    “No..” Bette croaked out after finding her voice. Never again..

    A hour and a half later..

     

    It was a good session, though reluctant at first, Bette acknowledged this to be true. Probably their best one to date – and she promised the older woman a lot more. She had opened up a lot – shared things that she couldn’t share with her therapist during their earlier meetings. At least her head didn’t feel like exploding from all the bottled up thoughts that she kept inside – for more than half an hour, she freed her mind and in a way – released herself from some of her self-induced chains. Settling the bill and leaving a hefty tip for the gum chewing waitress who had been shooting her lusty looks all day, she slid out of the empty booth and walked towards the door where her lunch companion disappeared out of not a few minutes ago. She vowed to see Candace again – provided that the woman pick an equally secluded, yet infinitely more aesthetically pleasing, venue next time. She didn’t want to have their sessions in her office, the woman’s building was teeming with people from the business world – and it was probable that she might get recognized and word might get out to her father. How will she explain meeting with one of NYC’s renowned therapists to the man? She was a bad liar, and one look at her face would give her away.

     

    She was walking along the length of 45th St. when she heard her phone beep and vibrate inside her purse. Taking it out and opening the newly received message, she nearly stumbled on her own two feet when she read what was written there.

     

    From: Daddy

    Message: We might have a breakthrough in our hands. Genesis Prime Holdings is looking to invest in hotels. Meeting with William Grisham on Friday night. You should come, he’s quite fond of you. I’ll call you later about the details.

     

    Relief crashed over Bette like waves. Finally, a speck of light at the end of the tunnel. Although tiny and insignificant as it appeared to be, Bette couldn’t believe how blindingly bright it was. Grinning like an idiot now, she resumed her walk with a jubilant bounce in each step. She couldn’t do anything about the past, but she could sure as hell do something to keep itself from happening again in the future.

    7. Second post, I know, I’m working on getting a life. I was reading JTG I and came across the incest part, and then thought about IC insulting our intelligence with TK’s interrogation scene. Just wanted to mention that, tah for now. LOL

    10. Actually, this was an awesome chapter. I was able to see a young, bright, beautiful woman come to terms with her former behavior. Bette is growing up and becoming a better person. I am with Alice, I am not too found of Kate and you are making me nervous. Who is this new person that Bette is going to meet?

    12. I miss NYC, with the people pushing and shoving. NOT!!!!!! I’m happy that Bette had a good therapy session. But, I am trying to accept Candace as a GOOD person. Still trying to picture it. Still trying…… Kate is going to cause trouble for Tina. I hope Alice keeps a close eye on Kate, just in case Tina gets into trouble. Great post. PPS

    15. Why do I have a bad feeling that Tina is going to catch Bette with Candace in the future.As for Kate, sure Bette will hate her… but she might play with her too. Kate could be a fun pet….That sounded better in my head.

Alch agin great chapter can’t stop laughing about what happened after ette “meeting”. Love the love these two are sharing. I ope Bett will hare her problem with Tina soon becuse I sure her upport will be great and help to Bette cure. PPVS

    18. I’m glad Bette’s getting therapy, and I hope she sticks with it, it’s clearly helping some. Kate = big trouble. I wonder if Bette will see right through the girl straight away, or will she be as oblivious as Tina is? …Nah. If her bff Sam has to maintain distance from Tina at all times outside of Bette’s supervision, I think Bette will hire a squadron of ninjas to keep Kate at bay. Great chapter, Alchemy, thanks!
