Just The Girl 2.0 – Chapter Thirteen (based loosely on HYD: Returns)

“Awesome! Thanks.” Shane grinned gratefully, scribbling it down inside the tiny boxes.

It was quiet again for a few moments until..

“Damn..” Alice cursed, finding herself stuck in question five. Where the heck was Tina when you needed her? That girl had all the answers when it came to movies and Hollywood tidbits. “Shane, you’re familiar with those old Hollywood movies, right?”

“Yeah.. sorta.” Shane shrugged. “Not like Tina though.” She said absentmindedly. “Sorry..” She quickly apologized to Bette, seeing the way her face fell at the mere mention of her estranged lover.

“Help me out with this one.” Alice sighed, lifting the magazine to read the question out loud. “Which actress was paid 7 million dollars to wear extravagant pieces of jewelry, wear gold dresses and have about 65 costume changes during an epic movie filmed in 1963?”

“Eddie Murphy!” Clara once again butted in.

    Shane, Bette and Alice blinked.

“Actress, babe. Actress..” Shane stressed to her girl with a kind smile, not wanting to offend or make Clara feel bad. Alice on the other hand, couldn’t care less about her feelings.

“Ah, Clueless Clara. Yes, I’m calling you that now.” Alice let out a huge breath. “Eddie Murphy might be a fan of wearing high heels and dressing up in women’s clothing in his movies and sometimes in real life too – allegedly, but no, it’s not him.”

“Aww.. shucks. I thought I got that right baby..” Clara pouted, snuggling against Shane like a cat.

“Maybe next time you’d get it right.” Shane smiled, slowly easing herself away from the girl. Damn, maybe she should start picking her girlfriends more carefully. These hot airhead models she loved to mess around with did nothing for her already questionable intellect. “It’s Elizabeth Taylor in that old Cleopatra movie.” She told Alice with a shrug. At least she was good for something other than womanizing. “Excuse me a sec,” She lifted a finger when her mobile began ringing beside her. It was her dad, and he never called unless it was something important so she took the call in the adjacent room. Of course, her clingy girlfriend followed after her like a puppy.

“Hey Al,” Bette began when they were out of earshot.

    1. I went back and read JTG chapter 30 – the one with the Ferris wheel and the gift-cookies for Bette’s B’day…including the “Tina’s heart cookie.” Bette promised not to hurt TK’s heart. Don’t you just hate it when someone brings back something you’ve said or done in the past to make a point. :) He-he! Need to fix this…PPS. :)

    2. Going back to your hiding hole? What the….? I know that doesn’t mean a few months before another post?! Very nice lengthy update but I need more…this story is my crack. LMAO! Bring on groveling Bette!

    3. So good I have to comment twice. :-) I forgot to say earlier that I don’t often get into teenage TiBette stories, but this story is just beyond good. I love all your characters, B and T especially. Your reformed and generous Bette, and your strong, passionate, stubborn Tina – “the immortal weed” – always a pleasure to read your updates. Thank you for taking the time to write and share with us. :-)

    4. Ah, girl! Thank you again. I don’ t know what can I say to you. I love that story. And sorry I’ m late but I was out of town. Have a nice day. Kisses.

    5. Groveling Bette…bring it on Alchemy! Tina deserves major groveling.Alice was hysterical in this chapter! Her snarkiness to Clara…too good!Kareoke…with double dare…classic. Wonderful balence of drama and humor. Once again, you rock!

    6. Thanks for this update Alchemy. I can just imagine Bettes singing. And seems, the we havent reach the peak of the drama for whats to come. I remember the scenes with those effects. But please dont wait till the end to get them back together, pretty pls.

    7. Barry! LOL! That was great, and I thought this was very up lifting. I’m also happy that Jill made that effort to talk to Tina. Although, I did fear for a second that she was going to leave DD marks on her. LOL. I’m loving it, thanks for the post.

    8. What a cliffy! I loved it before and I still love it up to now. Thanks for the post. I wish their heartache would end. I am hurting too…

    9. I left that comment for the wrong author, oops. *blush* This B&T are rather heartbreaking. I hope Tina can listen to poor, half-strangled Shane… But the onus is on Bette. She’s got to earn Tina’s trust again. But Tina does need to know that Bette didn’t cheat on her. Grovelling Bette will be interesting. Thanks for the post, Alchemy.

    10. what can i say… i hate what they are doing… but i have faith it will end soon and be back together… at least i hope tina is willing to start forgiving bette… more ass kissing is called for… for sure… but tina needs to get out of where she is… let bette suffer some more… seeing tina all the tima and net being with her will kill her more..pps

    11. Okay so this dose of drama was definitely better..it’s what they must go through..I appreciatethe lovely balance of humor w/ the drama..and of course I love Sam’s return..the only other one Bette listens to…thank you

    12. Alchemy your mix of humor, drama, and sweetness is incomparable. :-) Bette dug her own hole with Tina, and now she needs to dig herself out. Trust is a fragile thing, and hard to earn back when it’s broken. The singing was priceless, haha! Thank you for this lighter chapter – it’s always a joy to read your writing.

    13. Man, I feel for both Bette and Tina. Tina has been royally wronged, but Bette is trying to make up for past mistakes. If Bette is ever in a position of talking to Tina she needs to come clean with all that she has been doing and why.

    14. That was great, sad to see B&T apart but hope they will talk, work thing out and get back together soon. Alice is crazy but gonna love her. Please post more, thanks!
