Just The Girl – Chapter Twenty (a HYD-inspired fic)
"Sure!"
Violence, small talk and pancakes.. it was the start of yet another Sunday morning in the Kennard household.
——————————-
8:30 AM. Porter Estate.
In another side of town (the better, quieter side), Bette Porter woke up to the soothing sounds of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as it flowed out from the speakers that were built-in to the bedroom walls. A minute later, a soft knock was heard before the double doors to her bedroom opened. "Good morning Miss Bette." Sonja, her chambermaid, greeted as she entered Bette’s bedroom and pulled open the thick curtains covering the windows to let the sun shine in.
Bette stretched her arms out and removed the mask from her eyes. "Good morning Sonja!" She cheerfully exclaimed as she threw the eye mask to the side. The older woman could only look at her young master in surprise as the normally grumpy teen smiled brightly at her.
"Are you okay Miss?" Sonja asked worriedly as she eyed her young ward. Bette Porter was not a morning person. She had been waking up the young heiress ever since Bette was five and she was always met with angry shouts of protest from the brunette when she did so. She attributed all the white hair on her head to all the years she has taken care of the teen But as much as the young brunette drained her of her youth and energy, she found herself truly caring for the child. Bette, for all her quirks, was not that hard to love.
"Better than okay Sonja. I’m feeling excellent, superb, splendid, magnificent.." Bette happily exclaimed as she excitedly threw the covers off of her and jumped out from her queen-sized bed. "I am feeling fan-fucking-tastic!!" She giddily said as she hopped over to the window and looked out at the garden below. "It’s a beautiful day today!" She said with a big grin on her face. Sonja furrowed her brows, observing dark clouds in the horizon. It was hardly what you would normally call a beautiful day. After a few minutes of just observing the view, Bette skipped towards the bathroom for her morning beauty rituals, whistling a happy tune along the way.

When Tina saw Bette curled up, soaking wet, waiting for her… I just wanted to ball. It was so incredibly touching. Can’t wait to read the next chappie…
That was great and glad Tina come, ok now let the first date began!
I am glad that Sam stepped in and made sure that Tina understood what was going on. Poor Bette, she has so much to learn but she does seem to learn quickly. Can’t wait to read more!
That chapter had me in tears for Bette. Tina should have listened to her heart in this case. So glad that Sam called, but why didn’t Bette call the house, she does have a cell phone. So beautiful though.
Yay, yay, brilliant; thank you so much!
Wow. That’s a lovely, touching rain-drenched scene. Superb! I hope Bette or Tina won’t catch cold so that they could continue their first, first date. Thank you, Alchemy! :>
