Lesbiannicus: Chapter 10 – Balance the Scale

“Yes.” Filling another glass Maru hands it to her.

“You’ve been home for days and had yet to break words by your actions I was beginning to assume it was an act to avoid such conversation.”

“Your assumptions prove false as I had other matters to attend too.”

    “Other matters?”

    “Yes.”

“Would these matters concern the blonde woman you rode into the city with?” Jaeil immediately noticed the condescending tone in her voice out of respect she opened the conversation leading to the answers Maru awaited.

“What is it you wish to know?”

    “Her name?”

    “Alice.”

    “Who is she?”

    “A princess.”

“A princess? You bring her here why?” Taking a sip of her wine she impatiently awaits an answer to her question.

“Her name Princess Alice daughter of Queen Lenore the sole and only surviving heir to the Lesbiannicus throne.” Her revelation caused a grave look of concern to appear on the face of Maru.

“You are mistaken there were no surviving members all six lives were stilled and their bodies burned.”

“I’m afraid, you have been misinformed Queen Lenore had six daughters, if six lives were stilled including the queens that leaves one life———-.”

“Unaccounted for, “Maru says shocked at the news she was hearing, “How can this be!? You are certain she is who she says she is?”

    “Yes.”

    “How did you cross paths?”

“I set upon proper path in returning home in doing so I stumbled upon the princess and another donning the House of Lesbiannicus colors and banner. Given past history between Lesbiannicus and our people I hoped to still the lives of them both.”

    “What gave you pause?”

“Jennicus soldiers lay in waiting to complete the deed not wanting to be robbed of honor I removed the light from their eyes. It was then I was informed all these years of what we’ve known to be true was a lie…..the attack on our home was never commanded by the queen but by Jennicus.”

    “You speak with false tongue!”

“Queen Lenore had no probable cause for commanding such an attack. She had wealth, power, and oversaw the largest army in the land she was a woman at peace and ruled as such. Although, the queen held no cause for an attack Jennicus saw opportunity to rage unjust wars thus creating a divide amongst us hoping we turn on one another; she succeeded as we all believed it was ordered at the queens command.”
