Lesbiannicus: Chapter 10 – Balance the Scale

    “Now, she has taken Cordelia.”

“My fear, she seeks to invade and conquer all, “she pauses before speaking again, “Like you many others question my decision to bring her here my reason being if there is any hope of restoring peace and balance in the world it begins with returning the woman whose name was robbed to the throne to reclaim it.”

“Who knows of her true identity?”

“She, I, and now you only know of the truth.”

“Jaeil, my only concern now with her here if discovered our people could be at——-.”

“I can assure you her whereabouts are unknown, “she says confidently, “Now that you have been properly notified when is proper time to inform Queen Maia?”

    “Queen Maia?”

“Yes, her and Queen Lenore were great friends I made promise to bring her there where she will be better protected.”

“Allow me a few days to clear head setting proper course into action we will meet soon to discuss until then see to it the future queen is not harmed and looked after.”

“I have already commanded it so, “she says taking a sip of her wine.

“Apologies on behalf of our people and myself for questioning your decision we cannot forget the honor you have bought us all.” The moment Maru requested her presence Jaeil knew what she was in store for. She was the eldest of her people having lived life 132 years she was a beckon of wisdom and knowledge. The Kai women unlike everyone else did not contain a hierarchy meaning they had no ruling queen. The blood line was severed when the queen and her daughters were brutally murdered at the hands of Queen Lenore who they believed was responsible at the time. Like Jaeil, Maru was very well respected and although she did not hold the title of queen she was treated as such. It was for that very reason Jaeil felt obligated to inform her as to why she bought Alice to their homeland. As an orphan it was Maru who took Jaeil in rising her as her own. As a child many believed her high ranking position in the army was a result of favoritism shown from Maru, all skepticism ceased the day she forced Selene onto her back during a sword exhibition. Maru raised Jaeil with an iron fist she was strict, often un-relenting, and exposed her to all life had to offer. She loved Maru and she loved her in return but most importantly there was a mutual respect rendered between the two women.
