    Day One of a new life

    Dana and Alice finished their breakfast and got to talking about how they were going to go about their relationship this time. No flaws, no doubts, no cheating, no second thoughts, plenty of sex. Dana knew that they had to tell their friends like last time. But there had to be one little difference. Alice got on the phone and called up Bette, Tina, Jenny, Shane, and Carmen. Dana called up Kit, Angus, Helena, and her parents. She asked her parents to bring Howie, her younger brother, and that this was a very important thing. Alice told her people that this was like the intervention she, Shane, and Dana did for Bette and Tina. This was a get together for both families and for Alice and Dana to come out as a couple. Dana asked her parents to be at the hospital at 6:30 and for the others to be there at 6:00. Dana was so excited and so nervous. The only way to get over it was to work up an appetite and a sweat. Dana and Alice got to the gym and started on the barbells at 5 pounds at 5 reps. Dana went on to the leg lifts. She bent her knee and pulled it down to her chest 5 times. Alice was having a hard time containing herself. After all, she’s the one who liked it when Dana got all sweaty with her veins popping all over her body. Alice helped Dana to every work site like a regular nurse. Her strength and her love were Dana’s.

    2 hours later, they had takeout lunch. Shane came from Wild Oats and brought two deli sandwiches, a vegan oatmeal raisin cookie split in two, and a quart of Silk soymilk. For herself, Shane brought an Arby’s Big Montana, a large curly fries, and a super size Dr. Pepper.

    Dana protested, ‘Now I know you are not going to just sit there and eat that right in front of me, with this stuff somebody called food.’

    Shane answered, ‘Yes, I am. And you are going to share that sandwich with Alice and you are both going to like it and appreciate that somebody took the time out of their day to buy it and bring it to your doorstep. Now, shut up and eat it.’
