“Oh, yeah, right!” Kate answered, smiling back at the bartender. “I forgot. So you can just keep all of that, then. And we can just close our tab later … when your shift ends?”
The bartender shook her head, still smirking. “Why don’t I just reduce your total with this?” She walked away without a backward glance at Kate.
“You think she has a girlfriend?” Kate, disappointed.
“She’s a cute bartender in a hot gay bar crawling with women looking to make-out, Kate. Of course she has a girlfriend … probably more than one.”
Kate swallowed some of her drink, and then raised the glass to eye level and looked at it. “Makes a nice rum and coke, at least. Not too much rum. Considerate. And the rum’s good quality …”
She swallowed another sip, and then frowned at Tina. “And why are you so grouchy all of a sudden? Just because I call you out on your crush …”
Tina swallowed what she’d sipped from her glass and set it down with a huff. “I. Don’t. Have. A. Crush!!”
Dance music suddenly started to blare out from the speakers hanging overhead, taking over the mix of holiday songs that had been playing until that point. The MC was talking over the crowd’s hoots and hollers. “…and of course, we’re all excited about the holidays, right?”
Kate drank half of her drink and squeezed her eyes to squelch the tears that sprang to them. “Wooh, party time! Man, that hit! Stronger than I thought…”
Tina downed the rest of her martini and slammed the glass down on the bar, still irritated at what Kate was insinuating.
“Tina, I know you can handle your drink. But, I think you should slow down, there … this is just the first bar we’re hitting tonight for our research, you know …” Kate was looking at the empty martini glass, and then at the blonde, with raised eyebrows.
“I’m going to the ladies …” Tina announced, and stood up stiffly, grabbing her purse.
Kate shook her head as she eyed her friend walk away. She noted that Tina could still draw interested eyeballs her way, and, in her sequined, shiftless, sleeveless dress that fell to just below mid-thigh, Kate saw Tina could easily give the single ladies around who were dressed in more daring outfits all the competition they could handle. Bette is one enlightened spouse! I’d have never allowed my wife to leave our house dressed like that. At least not without me!

is chapter is painful, Tina was again unfaithful, I hope for the next face that Tina be honest with Bette and Bette are angry and disappointed, I hope Bette took time alone to think about their marital future, I hope Tina suffer and drag to order forgiveness for having sexual desires for women and never stopping to kiss that whore !!! Tina has to suffer its consequences and this story made me nervous, I’m looking forward to your next chapter, thanks for today
I will be interested how you play this with Bette and Tina. There hasn’t been very much romance for Tibette in a long time. They need to reconnect and take care of their marriage. Thanks, enjoyed it
This is turning into “Love Out of Control.” I think Dan Foxworthy is going to have his hands full with Tina once again. She needs to figure out why? Why again? I was particularly drawn to the line, “…you live in New York! You can’t avoid bumping into gorgeous people here. It’s a giant candy store out there, and you must run into all manner of eye candy all the time… ” It made me think that while everyone enjoys a little candy every now and then, it has very little nutritional value. Tina seems like the type who chooses things that nourish her. She’ll figure it out.
I’ve got to find this lesbian bar you so vividly described. It sounds like its definitely worth the price of admission.
You hit all the senses again…strawberry-flavored gloss, honeysuckle scent, warm pliant tongue, pulsing beat, daring outfits. You put me right in the scenes again.
BTW, you’ve teased us long enough, I’m dying to read about Bette’s golf outing. Bring it on!
Yes sky when you said drama well what can say. I feel bad for Kaci but I’m glad Tina stopped from letting it go any further….
When i asked more B&T time, this was not what i expected :-( . Thank god Tina stopped the kiss , but she seemed to kiss back and that is not good. I know that you can be acctracted to other people while you are in a happy secure marriage, but she is/ was playing with fire.
My heart breaks for Bette, she doesn’t deserve this. Tina has to come clean. It was Kaci who started the kiss to distract the guys attention but it was Tina who kissed back. Fuck what a mess.
And Lena is that the same woman Bette is after for the foundation?
