Love in Control – Chapter VIII – Will You Marry Me?

“I am, T. Can’t help it.  Can you?”

Tina slowly laid a path of soft kisses and nips down her throat, along her clavicle, pausing to murmur, “You’re right. Planning all this with Jade … feeling caught up in the fever of true love…”

Bette cried out softly as Tina shifted her kisses to one fleshy mound, and then captured an areola between her lips.

“But enough about them …” the blonde added as she slipped a knee in between the outstretched legs of her wife. And then she rubbed a thigh on the apex of where those long, sexy legs met … where she knew it felt go-o-o-ooood. Bette was beginning to writhe beneath her.

“Because I want to thank you properly for your surprise this morning,” she said huskily above the sexy moans of the brunette.

Judging by the sticky slickness on her bare thigh, she knew — “I think she’s ready for the surprise I gave her last night!”

She asked aloud as she pushed herself off of the bed, quick-stepping to the bathroom where she’d left the toy after rinsing it off last night, “You ready for another round, honey?”

The answering grunt told her all she needed to know.

After a beat, eyes still shut, the back of her hand resting lightly on her head, Bette asked hoarsely, “But what about breakfast …” she cut herself off, moaning as she felt the tip of Tina’s toy start to push in.

Posing as a beautiful, sexy woman who warranted a king’s ransom for the pleasure of intimacy with her was a daunting challenge Rian never thought in her wildest dreams she’d ever have to meet. But here she was, about to do just that.

Thank goodness that stylistically, the three level bar was the perfect setting for Rian’s role-play. I mean, if a girl had to role-play the sexy, there was no better place to pretend being a high-class girl than high-class New York, right? Rian touched-up her lipstick one last time and blew a breath out as she stepped away from the mirror in the powder room just beyond the coat room.  “C’mon, Rian!  Let’s do this!”

The bar had a reputation for being a “sexy bar”: it had that extra “something” and delivered with style so that even the most jaded night-life habitué invariably left impressed.  The music venue in the lowest level was the main draw for the twenty-something crowd, and tended to be the noisiest area of the bar; while the main level evoked a stylish, romantic, even intimate atmosphere punctuated by a plush interior bathed in blue light on most nights — it attracted a more upscale clientele.  In other words, Morgan was spot on with this place when she’d convinced everyone to move this party from the downtown bar Bette and Rian had initially planned for. This place was still new, hadn’t been descended upon by hordes of out-of-towners looking for “that New York club experience” and screamed classy, “u-can-t-touch-this” exclusivity.

    1. Oh, that was absolute worth the long wait!

Fantastic and sexy chapter, wouldn’t mind if you write more B&T in your story.

But Rian and Jade captured my heart, they are a great couple.

      Thanks for the update!

    2. You can be sure that yes, it was worth the wait
      for another fantastic chapter!
My heart always Tibette, however Jade and Rian captivated me.
      The whole universe

    3. Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to comment. A few caveats: the story arc for “Love In Control” will not have much Bette/Tina romance, although there will be occasional scenes. Their story is evolving in this book — the evolution will see them in a family unit, rather than as a couple. This particular arc started with scenes in earlier chapters, and will be more central in the next chapters. I think I’ve gone over their romance (exhaustively) in the other books already, anyway, and I really don’t have much more to say about “Tibette” than what I’ve already written in the other books.

I sense that it’s time that they evolve and mature in my stories, as characters, otherwise, their story arc will not make much sense if they remain struck in TiBette-land (at least in my storyline). To be perfectly honest, an evolving, maturing Bette/Tina, in the way I’ve been writing about them, is infinitely more interesting for me to write. I can sense them growing, and it seems to be as part of a family unit: this evolution is more authentic and important in this book than “TiBette.” it’s the other couples, in the meantime, who will be developing their own romances.

In the end this book is about a few kinds of love, what they mean, etc., but make no mistake the evolving Bette/Tina take on love remains the central/anchoring one for this book, particularly as things take a turn in the next chapters.

i may disappoint many of the readers who take the time to click through the pages of this story … I hope they will understand that I really can’t write a story if it’s not something I believe in or can stand behind, or would even want to read myself. I have moved on, and have explored the limits of that particular time in their lives through several books already, and so have the Bette and Tina characters in my storylines. They are different now from who they were in the TiBette version of the earlier books from who they seem to be growing into —

maybe I should re-classify this book to another fandom, different from “L Word” even if Bette and Tina and their family are central characters?

I seem to be raising expectations by slotting this book under “L Word.” And that’s not fair to you, the readers.

    4. While Bette and Tina originally attracted me to your writing, your Jade/Rain and Aerin/Harley characters have captivated me. Their unexplored characters are ripe with endless plot lines. Don’t apologize for the lack of TiBette romance, as your other characters and your writing are rich enough to sustain my appetite for a romantic escape.
