Love in Control – Chapter VIII – Will You Marry Me?
She drew a quick breath when Rian slowly opened her eyes.
“You are the sexiest thing …” Rian whispered, reaching out to caress the nude, spectacular body of her lover, and Jade trembled at the hunger she saw in those eyes.
With a guttural moan, she quickly pulled their now nude bodies together, felt Rian wrap a leg around her waist, and half-lifted her to a nearby wall. She sucked hungrily at the succulent neck that was exposed as Rian’s head fell back wordlessly; Jade’s long, lean fingers once again plunged into the wetness of her lover. Jade rested the back of her hand against a muscled thigh and started thrusting up, the force of her thrusts doubled-up by her hips and thigh, her fingers brushing repeatedly against the spot in those wet walls, as her fingers filled Rian.
Their cries filled the room; the wet, sucking sounds joined in the cacophony, and Rian’s head spun crazily, threatening to explode into oblivion –she scratched and clawed on the muscled back and surprisingly soft skin covering it, hanging on for dear life as Jade pounded her. Finally, she stiffened for a moment, and then a climax to end all climaxes slammed into her. She screamed for all she was worth as her orgasm hit her again – but instead of letting up, Jade kept pumping, thrusting with her thigh and hip, lifting Rian into orbit again and again before Rian finally collapsed against the slick, heated, muscled body of her lover, completely spent.
As Jade carried her to the king-size bed and lay down next to her, Rian uttered the only words she could form out of that post-coital haze only the best of the best sex could induce —
“Marry me.”
“What?”
“Will you marry me, Jade?”
After a pause, and unsure of whether or not Jade had actually heard her, she whispered again, weakly, “Marry me, baby.”
She managed to turn and crawl over the shocked form of her lover, and would-be mate.
For some inexplicable reason, Jade was looking at her watch.
“I ask you to marry me, and you look at your watch?”
Silence.
Jade was verging on panic, fumbling with the controls of the window shade, apparently attempting to get them to roll open.
Okay, what the hell? Should I get the ring in my purse, and ask her properly? Is that what she’s looking for?
The window shade had rolled all the way up, and they could see the signs that were normally flashing outside in Times Square had gone dark for a second.
This seems to be the moment. Jade kissed her softly just as she was about to push herself up, gathering strength to somehow make it to her purse on wobbly legs, retrieve the ring, and then ask the love of her life to marry her. Again.
“Yes, babe. I will,” Rian heard in the darkness, and felt gentle hands on her back that were keeping her in place. “But you’ll have to wait for just a few minutes more, I promise, for the rest of –“
Just then a light show started and Jade pulled her back gently to rest on top of her again, as they both watched the show.
Jade was right. That was beautiful.
After the show ended, there was a moment of darkness again. Okay, now it’s my turn to light her up.
Rian turned away from the windows to look at Jade, preparing to push off again. Did she answer, yes, but? Who answers Yes, but?”
“Ri, please look outside,” she heard that soft voice plead once more.
And then, in a moment Rian would never forget, not for as long as she lived, she saw in screens all around Times Square, her name flash, letters coming out one by one, and the words,
“I don’t deserve you, but if you think you can bear to be with me forever…”
“Will
You
Marry
Me?”
She felt a ring slipped into her finger as she nodded wordlessly, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Jade. It’s you I don’t deserve.

Nice, enjoyed it especially Tina and Bette in the beginning
I agree the beginning was a laugh with Bette and Tina????
Love it! loved the homage to his #purple majesty Prince!….”when doves cry…”great way to start the day! My thanks!
Oh, that was absolute worth the long wait!
Fantastic and sexy chapter, wouldn’t mind if you write more B&T in your story.
But Rian and Jade captured my heart, they are a great couple.
Thanks for the update!
You can be sure that yes, it was worth the wait
for another fantastic chapter!
My heart always Tibette, however Jade and Rian captivated me.
The whole universe
I’m with all the above especially wkm and Dee22 Tibette always.
Worth the wait, thanks.
Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to comment. A few caveats: the story arc for “Love In Control” will not have much Bette/Tina romance, although there will be occasional scenes. Their story is evolving in this book — the evolution will see them in a family unit, rather than as a couple. This particular arc started with scenes in earlier chapters, and will be more central in the next chapters. I think I’ve gone over their romance (exhaustively) in the other books already, anyway, and I really don’t have much more to say about “Tibette” than what I’ve already written in the other books.
I sense that it’s time that they evolve and mature in my stories, as characters, otherwise, their story arc will not make much sense if they remain struck in TiBette-land (at least in my storyline). To be perfectly honest, an evolving, maturing Bette/Tina, in the way I’ve been writing about them, is infinitely more interesting for me to write. I can sense them growing, and it seems to be as part of a family unit: this evolution is more authentic and important in this book than “TiBette.” it’s the other couples, in the meantime, who will be developing their own romances.
In the end this book is about a few kinds of love, what they mean, etc., but make no mistake the evolving Bette/Tina take on love remains the central/anchoring one for this book, particularly as things take a turn in the next chapters.
i may disappoint many of the readers who take the time to click through the pages of this story … I hope they will understand that I really can’t write a story if it’s not something I believe in or can stand behind, or would even want to read myself. I have moved on, and have explored the limits of that particular time in their lives through several books already, and so have the Bette and Tina characters in my storylines. They are different now from who they were in the TiBette version of the earlier books from who they seem to be growing into —
maybe I should re-classify this book to another fandom, different from “L Word” even if Bette and Tina and their family are central characters?
I seem to be raising expectations by slotting this book under “L Word.” And that’s not fair to you, the readers.
While Bette and Tina originally attracted me to your writing, your Jade/Rain and Aerin/Harley characters have captivated me. Their unexplored characters are ripe with endless plot lines. Don’t apologize for the lack of TiBette romance, as your other characters and your writing are rich enough to sustain my appetite for a romantic escape.
