LOVE LOST LOVE GAINED – PART 18

Shane tapped her pen on the kitchen top, as she waited for the person on the other end of the phone line to pick up.
“Hello?”
“Hey it’s me.”
“Hey Shane. How are you?”
“I’m good thank you. I just felt like ringing you up its been a few days since I last did.”
Carmen laughed into the phone. “I know. I’m well thanks. How about you?”
“Good also. Business is busy again. Getting a lot more customers coming in, not just to shop and skate but to get their hair cut.”
“That’s good. How’s Shay and the girls?”
“Everyone is good. Shay has his first soccer game next week, he has been begging me to come and watch. Alice is Alice, the other girls are all working or floating between jobs as they do. But everyone is well. How about you?”
“I’m good. It’s still the same as when you were here a few weeks ago. But we are going to have different themed night, once a month. I’m not hundred percent sure how its going to work, but it sounds good. The new PR, Amanda is setting it all up. She’s been working all over New York these last few months, so to get her working for us here was a huge bonus.”
“Sounds like its all going from strength to strength.”
“Oh yeah definitely.”
Shane started pacing the kitchen floor. “It’s Alice’s birthday next month and we were wondering if you could make it back?”
Carmen sighed and spoke softly into the phone. “I can’t, sorry Shane. Amanda has booked the first themed night on that day, and I’m the headlining DJ.”
“It’s okay, I knew you would probably be busy but I had to ask, just in case.”
Carmen smiled. “So how are things going between you and Al?”
“All good, that talk we had a few weeks ago did us both some good. We got some things off of our chests. We still have a way to go but its improving.”
“That’s great. Look I have to go, Amanda has just come round to show me the themes she has. She wants my idea’s, input; as I know more about the clientele then her.”
“Okay take care and I’ll speak to you later.”
“Cool, talk to you later. Bye.

“Hey Amanda, sorry I was just on the phone. Please come in”
Amanda walked through the door of the flat. “I hope I wasn’t interrupting something important.”
“No, it’s fine it was my friend back in LA”
“Cool, so you used to live out there?”
“Yeah, I did. For many years, started DJing there. Would you like some coffee?”
“No its okay thanks.”
“Okay.” Carmen sat on the sofa and Amanda sat next to her pulling out paper that was in her bag.
