“So these are the plans for the first themed night. I’m not sure why they want to change it up. But I guess you have to start attracting different people”.
Carmen smiled. “Yeah, we are pretty popular but it’s the same faces coming back week after week. Marc, wants new people. People to bring a new look. More money I guess.”
“You already have different nights. With the different genres of music you play. What we are now looking at is how to bring those two together. To combine it in a way. I’ve put some feelers out in the city and so far its looking good.”

“Cool. A month or so back I went to a gig with my…. with Shane. It was all British bands. All established over there, but here not a lot of people know them. It was a great night. A different range of music. Maybe we could do something like that. Have different bands play, new, up and coming DJ’s to give them a feel of the place. I’ve talked to Marc about it before and he seems to like it. What do you think?”
“That sounds like as plan. So Shane, he took you?”
“Oh no shane, Shane’s a girl” Carmen stuttered.
“sorry, I just thought with the name and everything.”
“No it’s okay, she used to get that a lot.”
“Is she here in New York?”
“No she’s back in LA, she was the one I was on the phone too.”
“Its nice that you have friends here and still have them back at home”
“Yeah definitely. We have come along way since we spilt…” Carmen slapped her head “You don’t really want to hear this. I mean I don’t know why I’m babbling”. Carmen knew full well why she was, Amanda was beautiful, she had long auburn hair tied messily in a bun with strands of her fringe falling into her face, and she had glowing skin, all thanks to a holiday in the Caribbean.

“Would you like to go out with me sometime?” Amanda asked.
Carmen was shocked “Huh?”
“I like you Carmen, have for a while but I didn’t know if you had a girlfriend or boyfriend. My gaydar is pretty good these days but you, you were hard to figure out, but when you mentioned Shane I just knew. I understand if you’re not interested.”
“No. That would be lovely”
Amanda smiled. “Well I’d best be going, the first night theme is already in the works. I just needed an excuse to come over here” She winked and laughed at Carmen’s expression. “How about I pick you up around 6 tomorrow night. We could go out for a meal before you have to work?”
