    I did everything, everything I wanted to,
    I let them use you for their own ends…

     

     

     

    Shane loves it when I let her sleep. She loves it more when I let her sleep curled up under me. I love to watch her sleep. I love to smooth her bad dreams away. I love to kiss her forehead just before I drift off myself. I use to dream a lot of my fragmented memories. Once Shane became my reason to forget, it all stopped. I never tried to understand why. I think for the most part that some things just can’t be fixed. I just hope that Shane and I are not one of them.

     

     

    My body is so tired. I am on state side time. So I just lie here with Shane clinging to me making it hard for me to breathe.

     

     

    This room or trailer looks like it belongs to someone else. Maybe that Joni guy Shane’s been hanging with. I look at the room. Video games everywhere, beer bottles, wine bottles, clothes….none of them are Shane’s…..well maybe the beer bottles…I get the feeling that I am being watched and it makes me jump shaking Shane from her sleep.

     

     

    “Wha…..what’s going on?” Shane mumbles.

     

     

    “There is someone watching us…from the window…”

     

     

    “It’s just Hans don’t worry…..shit…..shit  ……. shit…” Shane says tearing herself away from me. She grabs her clothes and puts them on faster than I knew she could I get up and do the same. I watch her go out and get yelled at by Hans. Knowing Shane the way I do she doesn’t take well to getting yelled at. She just glares her response and he glares at me and storms off. The door slams when she walks back in. Hand in her hair staring at the ceiling. It was like she forgot I was even here.

     

     

     

    “Shane?”

     

     

    “Hmmm?”

     

     

    “What was that about?”

     

     

    “Nothing I just missed qualifying….I am starting last. No big deal…”

     

     

    “So why do you look so…not here…”

    9. GEE-ZUS! Can’t Shane ever escape w/o having a lifelong scar to show for it? Yikes! At least Shane realizes her future is w/ Carmen, lets just hope she lives to have it. Loved it.
