Music Is My Savior
Yeah, she looks so good in that white dress
At the far end of the aisle
Standing where I should be standing
Some other man, on his face there’s a smile
It almost felt like a dream, something that just couldn’t be real. He prayed it wasn’t, standing there and hoping his mind was just playing tricks on him.
The large oak doors opened and he sucked in a breath, closed his eyes and tried to ignore the sharp pang in his heart. Soft music filled his ears and echoed in the massive room, music that was supposed to bring joy but instead brought him nothing but misery.
He stood there, stiff as a board but seemingly put together to the rest of the world and asked himself for the millionth time why did he put himself through this. When she entered his line of sight, looking even more beautiful than the day he had first laid eyes on her, his silent question had been answered.
The white lace hugged her body beautifully, tucked under her arms and flowing down the rest of her breathtaking frame. Her gorgeous blonde hair was half pinned back, flowing in delicate waves the way he always liked. Her bare shoulders sparkled from the glitter sprinkled on her creamy skin, the softest skin he had ever touched.
Watching her walk with that flawless smile, glowing with all the love she had in her heart reminded him just why exactly he put himself through this kind of torture. Her hazel eyes scanned the crowd as she walked, looking to the left before the right and then, her eyes met his.
It was then that he knew no matter the reason she left, no matter how much he loved her, he wouldn’t have missed this for the world. Even if she was marrying someone else.
"I just . . It’s just different. I don’t know know how to explain it"
"Well then dammit Tina, fucking try anyway! You at least owe me that!"
He squeezed his eyes tightly shut, grimacing at just how loudly he yelled at her. It wasn’t like him but then, it wasn’t like any situation he’d ever experienced before.

👱 poor Eric, he was portrayed with so much respect. Thank you for doing this Miss Liah, not all of us are man haters. On the other hand Tina and Bette were so awesomely hot and loving, me want more. Thank you 👸

Great post. I actually had some sympathy for Eric here, but the way it ended left no doubt everything happened for the right reasons. And, Eric eventually found his own happiness. Thanks for the post, Liah. :)

Great story. You did well by poor Eric, yet in the end he found his love. He was right when he said he could never compete with our Bette, no one can. And I agree with what everyoneabove me has said. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Liah for this story :-) well … Eric is just a man, another human being-who is being left broken hearted by his girlfriend because of finding another love.. And he is portrayed so good here, I meant all his emotions and dream and wishes all just simply reflected as he is human.. Not because he is a man. Great writing with interesting approach Liah! :-) anyway… so, when is the new installment would be ready for public consumption!? ;-) hehe… PPVS and thanks!!! :-)

Thanks, that was a nice way to approach a situation that many others experience and using Eric to have the role in this beautifully written story. It was great from all sides. Thanks for the wonderful way in which you tell stories.

You have a way to write with such sensitivity and heart, it’s deeply beautiful…
And since I can so fully understand Eric here, I cannot help but thank you for this respectful way to depict the tragedy of unrequited love. I admire his courage, I would have never been able to go to the marriage of the love of my life, even if I share, totally, his sincere wish of happiness for her. Poignant but beautiful ; thank you…
