    Music Is My Savior

"What the heck is wrong with you?" Bette asked without missing a beat, her words were laced with her growing anger as well as a fine layer of pain. Tina nearly flinched at the sound.

"W-what do you mean?" She managed to bring herself to say though the words didn’t sound as put together as Tina had hoped.

"Don’t play dumb with me. You know damn well what you’ve been doing"

It was a shock to Tina to hear Bette speak to her that way. It was a first and clearly unexpected but Tina had expected as much. She had put Bette through a lot over the last week.

Feeling uneasy and defensive, Tina couldn’t help but roll her eyes and throw an arm in the air. "What? What am I doing?"

"You’re trying to push me away and you seriously need to fucking stop"

Tina had already known what Bette was going to say but hearing the words aloud ended up making her blood run cold. She didn’t have a response though she felt like she would have had one. Instead, she tightened the grip she had on the door to match the tone in her voice.

"You’re soaked. Come inside. I’ll get you a towel"

She turned away without another word and made her way into the house, leaving Bette standing alone on the porch. Needing no further encouragement, she stomped her feet on the porch rug before stepping into the living room. Tina was back with her not a moment later with a fluffy green towel in her hands. She frustratingly threw it at Bette before the brunette had a chance to open her mouth, watching as it smacked her in the face.

Bette yanked the towel off herself with a huff and spent the following thirty seconds drying her arms, face and neck in silence.

She broke the silence eventually and her words sent a sharp pang to Tina’s heart, "I think you’re scared"

The blonde laughed but the sound was a shaky one, "Scared? Scared of what?"

Bette had been in the process of drying her wet hair when she straightened her body to meet her girlfriend’s gaze, "You’re used to people not giving a shit about you. People, who for God knows what reason, failed to see the amazing woman they had in their lives. You pushed and they walked without question. They never cared to try and stick around"
