Chapter 26

Tina woke up early the next morning with a headache she just couldnt believe. She remembered going home with Kate. She remembered the awkward ***** they had in kitchen, the shower and eventually the bed. She also vaguely remembered seeing Bette.
Did they speak? What did Bette say? Tina couldnt remember to well. She rolled over quietly stepped off of Kates bed.

Kate: Where are you going?

Tina: I have to get going. I have to help at the center. ( She lied.)

Kate: Oh, ok, well let me get dressed and Ill give you a lift.

Tina had almost completely forgotten that she didnt have her car.

Tina: Oh, ok thanks, but I could just call a cab.

Kate: No, I wouldnt hear of it. Ill drive you.

Tina: Thanks.

Tina and Kate both got dressed in silence. Tina desperately wanted to get back to Alices and shower, she felt so dirty. Kate was a great woman, and Tina liked her, but she wasnt ready yet for this.

While Kate drove her back Tina became even more curious as to what had transpired with Bette the night before.

Tina: Umm, Kate?

Kate: Yeah Tee?

Tina winced when she heard Kate call her that. That was a name given to her by Bette. She didnt mind her friends calling her that, but Kate, that was too much.
Tina: Do you remember if we ran into an ex of mine last night?

Kate: The girl with the dark hair, curly?

Tina: Yeah, Bette.

Kate: You guys were nuts last night.

Tina: Why, what happened?

Tina was suddenly nervous.

Kate smirked.

Kate: Lets just say whatever she did to youno matter how bad, you got her back. And then some.

Tina was conflicted. She wasnt sure exactly what she may have said or done to Bette but she was pretty positive that no matter what it was it wasnt as bad as what Bette had done to her. She wanted to feel bad, she just couldnt.

Kate: Here was go.

The two had arrived at Alices and Tina wasnt sure what to do with Kate. She had very little experience when it came to the morning after with woman. After all Tina had only ever slept with one woman before last night.

Tina: Should I get your number or something?

Kate: That depends, Are you going to call?

Tina smiled sweetly.

Tina: Ill do my best. Or maybe, why dont I give you mine. That might be easier.

Kate took out her cell phone and programmed Tinas number in it.

Kate: Ill call.

Tina: OK.

The moment was awkward. She wasnt sure if she should kiss Kate, hug her, a friendly handshake maybe? Kate just leaned over the seat and gave Tina quick peck on the check, making it easier for the both of them.

Tina: Thanks again, Kate.

Kate: No problem Tee.

There was that name again. She wanted to ask her to stop calling her that but she didnt want to seem cruel. Tina just nodded and closed the door.

Took collected her thoughts and headed inside Alices apartment
