After breakfast, Melvin got tired.

“Daddy, you rest because this morning was emotional as it was. Bette will come with Sonny, I’m sure about that.”

Kit left the room and her father fell asleep. She talked with Marina and then went out for a walk. Later she went for a walk with her father. He was very vivid and all the nursing staff were surprised about that. Kit noticed by their reactions that they never experienced something like this before. She lunched with her father and she told him about Sonny junior.

Late in the afternoon she got the call she was waiting for. She heard her sister’s voice and that was all the prove she needed. She handed the phone to her father but he didn’t hear anything. When she took the phone back, it was Sonny talking to her, telling her that he’d found Bette but talking to her and her father was a bit too much for Bette. But they would leave L.A. and come to New York. They would arrive at midnight.

It took Kit a lot of pressure to make her father go to sleep that evening but in the end, the emotions of the day took it’s toll. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

After she left her father, Kit walked to the little chapel where she found rest. She started to pray and give thanks for everything that happened so far. She ended in singing some of the songs that gave her strenght when she was emotional.

Outside the chapel some of the staffmembers heard Kit singing. Her voice was so strong and emotional, it got tears in the eyes of the people who listened to it. That was a gift that Kit was not aware of she had.

Kit must have fallen asleep because she got startled when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

“Miss Porter, your husband arrived.”

“Gosh, what time is it?”

“It’s a little after midnight.”

“Okay, thank you. Where is he?”

“He’s at the reception.”

“Okay, I’ll meet him there.”

Kit made herself decent and walked to the reception, where she was met by a very happy Sonny. He almost ran towards her to hug her and kiss her.
