    She let go of Bette’s hand and rested her hand on Bette’s crotch making sure her hand was well out of sight. “I want to make you feel better “
    Bette smiled wearily “I don’t know – maybe – maybe you can “
    “Peggy wants to take us to lunch “
    “Lunch with your mom and Peggy – haven’t I suffered enough?”
    “Oh sweetie – Peggy adores both of us and it might be fun to see my mom with the mother of the woman I used to date- Peggy has promised to be on her best behavior and you know she doesn’t know the meaning of the phrase – come on babe – leave James in charge. Plus, Peggy can help you think of a revenge for James. The only person I know who is better than you at revenge plans is Peggy “
    Bette grinned suddenly
    “You are right of course “
    She walked back to James desk with Tina and opening a black folder on the desk she handed the check to her assistant
    “See that gets banked as soon as possible”
    “Oh wow – even by his standards that is some morning “
    “How much did he spend?” Tina asked
    “Guess “ James said grinning at the cheque.
    “A few hundred” Tina said
    “Didn’t James explain he was some rich crazy guy?”
    “How rich?” Tina demanded
    “Well he spent $30,000 in September on 6 pieces of art and today he was in for a retirement gift and he ended up buying the retirement gift and two other pieces”
    “So how much?”

    James showed the cheque to Tina
    “Oh my “she said “You better not tell your daughter about that or you might find she wants every cat in the shelter when you take her down there after Christmas”

      Hmm, Tina and cocktails, not a great match ;-).

      Poor Roger, dealing with the woman he loves so much and now in hospital, i really hope that this will be Kit’s wake up call to change and fight her addictions.

      And Bette is doing what she can to help, but she is right, she can’t go back to LA.

    5. Loved it. I love Peggy and all her antics. Feel sorry for Roger but Kit was headed there for awhile. Hope the parents moving closer won’t be an issue. Thanks, I just love your style of writing

    11. Thanks for the update AllyE, a very pleasant and happy surprise. Tina has to remember that she can not keep up with Peggy when she drinks and besides Bette can’t stand the taste of alcohol on Tina nor the smell since she no longer drinks. She has told Tina that already and Tina should remember that and let Peggy drink alone, she will understand. Besides Tinas’ mother couldn’t drink either. Great chapter AllyE. Thanks again.
