    The one where they go for a walk in Central Park

    “If I could take all of this away I would “

    “I know that – and you are being so strong which is what I need”

    “Good – so no more talk about me regretting having the two of you in my life and get your jacket on before Angie gets the smart idea of putting the kitten in her rucksack and taking it out for a walk with us “

    Tina nodded “That is something she would do “

    “Yes it is – you might need to remember to check her bag every morning before she goes to school “

    “Whenever that is “

    “Yeah – well – you and I do need to talk about that. As you say its been easy in the last couple of days because she has been poorly. You ready ?”

    “Give me a couple of minutes “

    “Okay – better go make sure she hasn’t try and put the kitten in her pocket”

    Bette kissed Tina’s brow and went out of the bedroom. Angie had picked the kitten up and was walking around the room with her. Bette gave Angie one of her tamer “ looks “ which was usually enough to get her to comply with what she wanted her to do – or more usually – what she didn’t want her to do. Angie put the kitten down and it ran towards the bedrooms. Bette arched her eyebrow

    “I was just telling her not to worry and that we were going for a walk “

    “Cats like being on their own – she will need to get used to amusing herself. Why don’t we go to a pet shop and you can pick a couple of toys out for her ?”

    “Can we ?”

    “Yes – she will be an indoor cat so its very important that we give her enough stimulation – maybe something with catnip “

    “What’s cat nip ?”

    “Something that cats really get turned on by – we can buy her a toy with some in and she will enjoy the smell of the toy “

    “What will it smell like ?”

    “I don’t think humans can smell it but cats can “

    Tina emerged from the bedroom to hear Bette and Angie talking about the cat – it was a good feeling to know how Bette could make something as fun as getting a cat a lesson. Bette would have been a truly awesome teacher.

    4. Great chapter. Bette is cooking up something with Casey, hope it is something fun for Angie but I think it could be a little spy mission for Bette. Hope we can get another chapter very soon. Hopefully Bette will tell Tina about the Kennards living in such close proximity, relatively speaking. Thanks for posting.
