Bette and Tina went to the dance floor as did Alice and Dana. Shane and Carmen had eyes only for each other as they moved to the music, their arms around each others neck. Alex sat alone sipping her Frangelico and cream, happy to see that all was, at least for the moment, well with her friends.

Enjoying the happiness she was witnessing, Alex did not notice an unwelcome presence until it sat down at her table.
