    Chapter 6: Love and betrayal (Elizabeth closes one bad chapter of her life and Tina confronts Eric)

     

    “Piece of shit,” Alicia replied eagerly, happy to see that Elizabeth’s spirit was as strong as she said it was.

     

    Elizabeth turned back to Eric and continued as if she never stopped, “…especially when a piece of shit like you will be locked away for a very long time, I hope.”

     

    With these words she turned her back to Eric, winked at Alicia and left this place, with her friend following behind. However, as soon as they were far away from the jail and back into her favorite garden, Elizabeth suddenly burst into tears. Alicia extended her arms and pulled Elizabeth into friendly embrace.

     

    “What’s wrong, Bette?” she asked, holding her tight.

     

    Elizabeth slowly pulled herself away from Alicia’s comfort and said in somewhat frightened voice, “I fear love now.”

     

    Meanwhile, in another dimension

    Place: Los Angeles, CA

    Year: 2005

    (Previously) Tina suddenly saw Carmen looking intensely at her and knew it was time for them to talk. “Um, Shane, Dana, could you please go and talk about Alice outside for a second? I need to talk to Carmen privately.”

    Shane just nodded her head and grabbed hesitant Dana by the hand, taking her outside. Tina watched as Shane carefully closed the door behind them and turned back to Carmen, touching her pale cheek tenderly.

    “Shane told me that you wanted to talk to me first before deciding to do anything. If you holding off information because Eric’s my boyfriend…don’t. Don’t let it stop you from doing what is right,” Tina said, looking searchingly into Carmen’s eyes. “If he did it once, he might do it again. You have to help put him away and don’t you worry about my feelings…they’re all gone,” Tina finished with confidence.

    “It’s not just your feelings I was worried about,” Carmen said, squirming uncomfortably in her bed. “Last thing I remember before he hit me hard on a face, was his breath on my neck and a whisper that if I’ll go to the police, some of his influential clients will ‘take care’ of my family.”

    “Take care of your family?” Tina repeated in disbelief. “What exactly did he mean by that?”

     

    “Well, as much as I could remember and understand, you know…slowly sobering up and being beaten at the same time…he mentioned that he has several very powerful and influential clients and some of them have connections. Considering that I came from the Latina family and I am in fact a lesbian, it would be a double pleasure to arrange a nice little hate crime incident, involving my family or gay friends.”

    2. I am so glad that you brought this back. When it looked as if you had abandoned it along the fanfic roadside, I reread it and tried to write an ending (in my head, only) and couldn’t do it. So, when each chapter appears I bounce up and down with glee.

    9. Hey there! Late comment, cause late reading, cause away on a trip… But your update was the first story I read when I got back. I guess it says a lot about how much I love this story. I love the parallel between both misadventures with the piece of sh**. I guess now is coming the time for healing and moving on, and… maybe finding the real goodness of this world, which for them, has only one name: Tibette.
