“Ok, now, let’s return to your painting,” the professor continued as he pointed at the miniature and turned it towards Tina, so that she would be facing the image. “The image was buried under layers of dirt, soot and discolored varnish. After cleaning, it revealed an incredibly vibrant palette and a magnificent depiction of the lace and ribbons on her dress and hair.”
Tina took the miniature into her hands and looked at it as if she was seeing it for the first time. Elizabeth Porter, if it was indeed her, was sitting next to the window in front of what appeared to be an empty canvas. The red velvet of her lavish dress was accentuating her perfect olive skin. Her thick and curly brown hair, carefully smoothed back from the temples, was tied up under a ribbon of white silk. Her right hand with long and slender fingers was holding a paintbrush. The light from the window picked out the same metallic gleam on the brush handle and on the simple silver ring on her right hand.
‘She is so damn beautiful,’ Tina thought, once again mesmerized by the woman in front of her, ‘what happened to you, Elizabeth Porter?’
Aloud she said, “This is one hell of a restoration, Professor. I can’t believe how much detail I can see now, after all the varnish and dirt was removed.”
“It’s my job, Tina” he replied modestly.
“Well, all I can say is that you’re extremely good at it,” Tina repeated excitedly, “I just wish we knew a little more about Elizabeth. We’ve got plenty references on Melvin Porter and Maxine, but nothing really about her.”
The professor’s smile faded a little, knowing that Tina expected much more from him but he wasn’t able to provide it for her. One of the business cards on his desk seemed suddenly to require his attention as he avoided looking at Tina.
Tina was carefully wrapping the miniature back in the silk handkerchief and was about to leave, when Professor suddenly snapped his fingers, “Oh, I forgot. There’s one more little detail you need to be aware of. The article mentions that the miniature was done by unknown artist. After the cleaning we found initials CK on the right bottom corner. But nowhere in these historic books I had come across of anyone associated with the Porter family whose initials were CK. I guess this discovery just added another mystery item for your quest.”

OK, now what do you mean ” this story doesn’t attract many readers ” ? How is that possible ? Are you sure you’ve been “promoting” this fic right ( lol ! ) ? I mean, seriously, I’m genuinely shocked to read this. I love this story, I really do and I find it very enthralling… And everytime you post an update, after reading it I find myself thinking : ” damn it, this is so short !!! She can’t do this to us ! This is called “torture”, B&TF ! ”
OMG that was definitely a cliff hanger! Did Eric get out somehow and made Bette pay for his arrest? Can’t wait until your next update…you have my interest in this story!
Bette seems to have died a horrible death. I hope that they can find that love again in a safer time period.

LOL… Okay, now, who is the big tease???… Ahahah… This story is getting better and better. I’ve always loved slow building and unconventional Tibette stories, and gotta say that I’m served with this one! I love this, B&TF, and I can’t wait to see what happens next and to follow the adventures of Chris(Tina) and Eliza(Bette). I think you have great stuff in store, and this is getting really exciting. I wonder how Bette died, and I can only speculate about how B&T will finally meet. Oh, and this thingie with Alice is more than intriguing… Thanks for everything (not only talking about the fic) and please, please, please, continue reposting this fic, pretty please! K ;)
This story is amazing despite what you might think my talented friend, you wrote it incredibly as a beginner and now look at you, you are one of the biggest and most talented writers on the site with the mistakes and without them, you are what you are Hun and we love you for that. Thank you for this beautiful chapter, believe me any chapter that has Bette and Tina in it turns out to be amazing and so full of everything. Can’t wait for the next post, so please don’t be long posting it. Love
