Bette was in bed when Tina got home from work that evening but she wasn’t asleep. It was becoming a fairly regular routine for Tina to put in 16 hour days at the studio. Most nights when she got home both Bette and Angie were already asleep. Sadly family time and the couple’s love life were pretty much non-existent. Tina saw no reason to rush home and Bette saw no reason to wait up. The last time they’d had sex Tina was in her ninth month of pregnancy and still dating Helena Peabody. The mid-afternoon rendezvous was hot, passionate and fulfilling but the illicit act was more out of desperation to reconnect in the most basic way than an attempt at reconciliation.
Though they’d gotten back together to form their family just a few days before the baby’s birth they’d yet to regain the intimacy in their relationship. They didn’t kiss, or cuddle, or hold each other or even use terms of endearment the way they used to. Bette couldn’t remember the last time Tina called her ‘babe’ or the last time she called Tina ‘baby’ or even ‘Tee’ which was the special nickname she had used for years.
After Angie was born they’d visited a sex therapist to try to rekindle the romance and passion of the early years but that had failed miserably. Tina didn’t even want to try. She was self-conscious about her body, having had a C-section but the underlying reason was Tina’s inability to forgive Bette’s infidelity. The tenuous hold they had on the relationship couldn’t survive unfaithfulness; especially since the affair happened just three months after Tina had a miscarriage with their first child.
The tragic loss devastated them both but what happened next was heartbreaking. In an act of selflessness Tina made a unilateral decision to try again. Unbeknownst to Bette Tina was pregnant a second time after a self-insemination. She was intent on waiting to tell Bette until she knew the pregnancy was viable. Instead she discovered Bette’s betrayal and never got the chance. With a broken heart, no income, and a secret pregnancy Tina left Bette intent on having the baby on her own.

Tina hid her pregnancy for 14 weeks from everyone, until the weight gain became obvious. She was confronted by her friend Alice Pieszecki who accused her of getting ‘fat’ thinking she was eating her pain. She finally confided in Alice, but swore her to secrecy. It wasn’t until she met Helena Peabody; the woman that would later become her lover that she admitted her condition openly. Still intent on keeping Bette in the dark Tina was compromised when Helena revealed the pregnancy to Bette in a power play for Tina’s attention.

This story makes me sad, i will read it but it is so hard. As a true Tibetter i think it is better that they break up and try to find them selves. Bette made one big mistake and she paid dearly for that.
But Tina is not the innocent poor woman, she is one evil bitch who destroyed Bette with her behaviour.
Ugh, i hate season three! !! But i will stick around.

Really hated Tina in S3 and how she threatened Bette and I know that I also do not like her at the beginning of your story. Granted Bette cheated but she paid for it and let Tina walk all over her and humiliate her in public. Tina for her part, in my opinion, didn’t take any responsibility for the failure of their relationship and as it wasn’t bad enough that she dated Helena Peabody now she is working for her and helps her to invade herself with their friends. At least Bette is aware of the fact that she should not let Tina treat her like she does any longer and that she has to put herself together without Tina’s help. So looking forward to your next post, and thank you so much for posting this exceptional story.
as1219. I’m so glad to see you reading and commenting on this story. You were an integral part of it when I originally posted. I totally agree about how Tina treated Bette. Bette’s affair was a betrayal but Tina’s revenge was evil. She did everything in her power to break Bette and almost succeeded. As you know I can’t abide a broken Bette. She’s going to come back better than ever. :-)
BETTE should have been the happiest woman in WE-HO but HELENA/TINA made her look like a fool.TINA kept the screws in BETTE until that cybersex hic-cup and now alpha BETTE is loose.TINA needs to feel safe again but she goes overboard in this season.pps thanks
dunnthat – So true. I hated that Bette allowed herself to be so manipulated by Tina and Helena and later by Jodi. I think that’s why I always write a very strong Bette, but her heart is her character and you can’t get away from that. Thanks for sticking with the story. If you haven’t read it before I think you will enjoy the ride once we get over these hurdles.
