Peculiar Hesitation
Alice paused, her voice revealing the disappointment she felt, If thats what you want.
Thanks. She finally noticed the hurt on Alices face, I just want to do this the right way. Tell them at a nice dinner or something.
Alice perked up, learning that Dana wasnt hesitating or ashamed of her. It boosted her self esteem and she was proud of Dana for putting in the effort to be so thoughtful. She spoke giddily, Theyll never believe you proposed in the bathroom. She gave Dana a quick peck on the lips before flinging the bathroom door open.
They returned to the table, Dana tousled Alices hair before sitting down. Alice reached up to fix the out of place strands. Bette couldnt help but notice gesture and the ring and spilled her coffee all over the table and herself in utter shock. She jumped back, cursing and wiping the brown liquid off her pants. Tina fawned over her, telling her to run to the restroom and clean off her pants before they stained. Bette looked at Alice who begged her to not say anything with the desperation in her expression. She relented, letting Tina drag her to the restroom.
Shane and Jenny wiped the tears of laughter that had since fallen. Shane cocked her head to the side, Whats up you two?
Wha-whats up with us why? Just because we didnt think Bettes accident was as funny as you did, somethings up? Alice nearly missed her mouth with her coffee mug.
Shane shook her head and narrowed her eyes, When it comes to you and Dana, somethings always up. She downed the rest of her espresso in one quick gulp. Alright, guys, catch ya later. She pointed at Jenny, And Ill see you at 3. Be careful with the troublemakers, ok?
Dont listen to her, Jenny. Dana and I happen to be very nice women. Very innocent.
Haha. The temptress puts on her disguise, hiding her true identity. Alice, I know you well enough by now to know youre not innocent. One day Im going to write a story about you.

I love this story. I cant wait to see what happens.
This is so fun! Can’t wait for the next one…
Great start – i love it – and have to agree with sulky – there is something intriguing and yet off about jenny wiritng a tory on alice – but really a great story – loved the bathroom proposal.
i love this! not just cuz its alice and dana but cuz its pure genius. great story. keep ’em comin’. there aint enough stories about dana and alice on here
Why do I like the prospect of Jenny writing a story about Alice? I don’t know why, I’ve seen the kind of things she writes, and it creeps me out, but still…
So, I’m getting married in two months, so I’m SUCH a sucker for anything to do with weddings and engagements and all th at, so when Dana asked Alice to marry her, I did a little squeal and a cheer followed by a “Yay!” So obviously, you know how much I liked that, because it was so sweet.
But I think the best parts of this story are the little things, like the food caught in the teeth; the mouthed rather than spoken conversations; the subtle facial and body cues that alert what each other to what the the other is feeling. It really establishes the relationship and does a fine job of denoting the passage of time, because it takes a while to build up something like that, even if they were best friends. I’m looking forward to more updates!
I like this and I hope there is more to some so please post soon.
I loved this story! Great job. Keep going, if you please. *sweet smile*
