Shane and Alice both let out a collective sigh.
“That’s awesome Tina.”
Alice pulled out a sheet of paper and pen.
“Okay, next on the list…let’s see…When should we leave?”
“Well, I have the doctor’s appointments tomorrow, so maybe the day after tomorrow.”
“Good that’s what we thought too. Are you sure you’re up to it?”
“Yeah, I’ll be fine, physically that is, I’m really feeling a lot better. The stares and whispers…well that’s a different story.”
“C’mon, TK give us some credit. We’ve got some ideas to help with that.”
“They all laughed.”
“Okay, next …the drinking…How’s that going?”
“Wow, the big guns…um, I’d be lying if I said it’s easy, but it is easier. Detoxing in the hospital really has made it easier than the last time and having you guys to lean on has been…I don’t know… therapeutic. I really didn’t think I could feel…this…good…or more myself again. I guess I was ready to come home. I promise as soon as we get back to LA I’ll find a meeting and maybe even a therapist. There were a couple of really good Addiction Counselors at the Center, I’m sure I can get one of them to meet me privately.”
“Way to go TK, you’ve really put some thought into this stuff.”
“Well Al, I guess it’s true what they say about hitting rock bottom, there’s nowhere to go but up, you guys are giving me a second chance at life… I don’t want to blow it.”
Alice grabbed Tina’s hand.
“You won’t Tina, you won’t. Okay, let’s see …what’s next on the list. Oh yeah, do you have any loose ends you need to tie up here?”
Tina was silent for a minute.
“The only thing I have is my wallet. The EMTs grabbed it when they took me in. I’d like to get my clothes and a few personal items but I don’t know if it’s worth the risk or if…I want you to see …how I was living.”
Shane bowed her head and spoke silently.
“It’s your call we could call him and test the waters, you know… ask him to just put your stuff on the porch or something, and for the record…no matter how you were living I’m sure I’ve lived in worse.”

AL and Sahne rock. And Tina’s being pretty… amazing about things regarding Bette. Maybe knowing Bette wouldn’t fight her on their joint assets helps, though. Thanks for posting, DnA! :)

it’s just a little detail, but I realy think, if Tina had an opportunity to get her old job as a producer back, she would feel herself more independent more secure…;) although you shared just little information about Bette, I liked that she seemed so vulnerable, more willing to expose herself(her friends know about her paintings…) thank you for posting twice.^^
So happy to be able to read two new posts in one night. Please continue with this excellent story, cant wait for them to get back home.
Bette …wanted to make sure the house and the things you worked for were still there when you returned. She said that the house was more yours than hers. – very interesting!

So Tina does remember that Bette doesn’t like to be the last to know. Nice makes you wonder what else she remembers?

Hey D&A, What I love about this drama is how it demonstrates the love and support that friends, particularly female friends, offer.Tina has been through the worst of times and now wtih Shane and Alice’s help is on the road to recovery.Yes, there will still be bumpy bits but knowing you have such stalwart companions makes it that much easier to get through.It is going to be so interesting to read the rest of the gang’s reactions to Tina’s return particularly Bette’s.My hope is that Bette helps Tina deal with her addicition as she has been through this before with Kit. This will then lead to a budding romance, reigniting their relationship.There are times when being at your lowest point make you realize and appreciate the important people in you lofe. Bette is this for Tina so I pray they move forward together.Perfect writing and most enjoyable reading.Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

Bette’s going to be torn apart by what Tina has been through. No doubt her protective instincts will kick in. Yeah! Love the story – PPS!
I LOVE THIS STORY. So glad Tina reined Alice in a bit. and asked her to call Bette first because Tina is right Bette would be hurt if others knew before her that Tina was coming home. Hopefully Bette takes Tinas’ return well. And, of course, they do need to talk. Wonderful chapter. Thanks for posting. PPS
