Alice looked at her friends and spoke.
“Alright, next. Can we tell people you are coming home?”
Tina looked at her hands and then spoke quietly.
“I think it would be better for people to know ahead of time, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to share all of this…you know guys…the drinking…my life…Shit I’m so ashamed.”
“TK, of course, we’ll tell them you were in a car accident and needed to recuperate so you called your old buddies. Nobody needs to know anything more unless you tell them. I know I have loose lips but I would never hurt you with this…I swear.”
“Alice, believe me I trust you. More than you know…Thank you. Are we done?”
“One more item on the list, and as the saying goes, last but certainly not least… Bette.”
Tina sat bolt upright and stared at Alice.
“What about Bette?”
“Well Tina, for starters 2 years ago you left with nothing except your car. You’re entitled to the assets that you accumulated over 7 years. You worked hard Tina, you deserve to have some security.”
“Al, I’m not sure I have it in me to fight for that. I really…I really …I think I need to just start over.”
Shane took Tina’s hand and spoke.
“Tina, you wouldn’t have to fight. You’d just have to ask.”
“What does that mean Shane?”
“Tina, the only reason Bette pulled herself together enough to start working again was because she wanted to make sure the house and the things you worked for were still there when you returned. She has said a million times that the house was more yours then hers. I can guarantee she would never fight you.”
“Really?”
“Really”
“Well I guess I’ll have to talk to Bette when we get home, then.”
Shane stood up. Well I think we have a plan. Let’s clean up and get this show on the road. Alice jumped up. Does this mean I get to call Dana?”
Shane and Tina smiled at Alice and nodded their heads but then Tina said,
“Wait Al, maybe you should call Bette. I don’t know where she is with things, but I’m sure she’d be hurt to hear this from someone else.”
Shane smiled at Tina.
“You know Tina, you never cease to amaze me.”

AL and Sahne rock. And Tina’s being pretty… amazing about things regarding Bette. Maybe knowing Bette wouldn’t fight her on their joint assets helps, though. Thanks for posting, DnA! :)

it’s just a little detail, but I realy think, if Tina had an opportunity to get her old job as a producer back, she would feel herself more independent more secure…;) although you shared just little information about Bette, I liked that she seemed so vulnerable, more willing to expose herself(her friends know about her paintings…) thank you for posting twice.^^

Hey D&A, What I love about this drama is how it demonstrates the love and support that friends, particularly female friends, offer.Tina has been through the worst of times and now wtih Shane and Alice’s help is on the road to recovery.Yes, there will still be bumpy bits but knowing you have such stalwart companions makes it that much easier to get through.It is going to be so interesting to read the rest of the gang’s reactions to Tina’s return particularly Bette’s.My hope is that Bette helps Tina deal with her addicition as she has been through this before with Kit. This will then lead to a budding romance, reigniting their relationship.There are times when being at your lowest point make you realize and appreciate the important people in you lofe. Bette is this for Tina so I pray they move forward together.Perfect writing and most enjoyable reading.Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

I LOVE THIS STORY. So glad Tina reined Alice in a bit. and asked her to call Bette first because Tina is right Bette would be hurt if others knew before her that Tina was coming home. Hopefully Bette takes Tinas’ return well. And, of course, they do need to talk. Wonderful chapter. Thanks for posting. PPS
