There was blood in the sink. A razor sits next to the wire. It’s covered with blood and tiny bits of flesh. The bio weapons branch developed it for me. Shane found it. And now I have no way of knowing where she is.

Shane was wired. She has no idea. I feel a little guilty. Bette was explicit. Find her, or we were both dead. The simple fact is that they know that we know they can not stop us. They will however make life extremely oppressive. Night and day will blur without the cocktails, life will seem like a nightmare and in the end they know that we know, the only way end to any of this is our death. Sometimes this all makes my head hurt.

Shane was wired but there were no wires. Inside of somewhere like an itch, an organic compound beeped silent and told us everywhere she went when the weather was right when she wasn’t underground or out of range. It’s tracked by a satellite and 25 different sets of relays. The point of this is not to know where she is. The point is to know exactly what she was doing.

This is Bette yelling at me in her office. Tina stands just to her right and the newly demoted Alice stands to her left. They know that I found Shane on two occasions what they don’t know is why I didn’t do my job and kill her…err bring her in.

“Explain it to me again Carmen. Please so I can understand. You found her in California a full two hours before she killed a one…..Tina what was the woman’s name?”

“Tucker, Cindy. Age 27, El Cajon, Californ….”

“Thanks I get it. She killed this woman and her lover. Killed a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist in Moscow, all in your presence. Now I know satellite imagery isn’t as exact as the movies but you had your chance, what is she too good or are your feelings still in question here? No don’t answer…I really don’t care what it is between you two. This is in all honesty our fault, this pointless cycle over and over. It’s like a game you play with each right? Playing tag around the world. Yes and all the dead bodies are part of the game for you two….”
