Dana F: Aaron is a little on edge. He’s asking every1 if u had mentioned what time u were going 2 be in tmrw. Everything’s ok, right?
What a tool, I thought. Must he always involve everyone we work with when he’s pissy with me?
The next message revealed itself to be even more ridiculous.
Dana F: Holy shit! His baldness just fired 1 of the interns in front of EVERYBODY for delivering a letter addressed 2 u with his mail stack. Thought his head was going 2 explode! Major screamfest @ that poor kid. Where R U, T?
Jesus Christ. He really does want a lawsuit for hostile work environment, because he’s certainly working hard at building a case against himself. Bet he wished it was me he was firing. Fuck him, I’m not going to be scared to lose my job because he’s a prick.
The third and final IM had come just a few minutes before I turned my phone back on and caused me the most concern.
Dana F: T, if you get this soon, get to the office as soon as you can. Your favorite boss just called a meeting with all the A&R reps!
That was enough for me to call Dana right away. It rang once before she answered just above a whisper.
“Tell me you’re on your way?”
“Getting in my car now, what the hell is going on, Dane?” I looked at my watch as I revved the engine to my recently washed car in my driveway, and saw that it was already 9:15 a.m.
“I don’t know, Tina. Oscar and Esai just came in here to ask if I had seen you. They said Aaron called a last minute meeting with them and they just shut the door to the conference room right now.”
I pinched the bridge of my nose, already feeling a headache coming on.
“Shit, okay. I’ll drive like a bat out of hell. Did the guys say what the meeting may be about?”
“They hadn’t a clue.”
“Fuck. I’ll see you in a bit then. Call me if you get any information before I get there.”
“You got it, T.”
We said our goodbyes, and I punched the gas pedal, determined to get to the office before the meeting was disbanded. I was pissed that I hadn’t received any messages from the bald bastard himself about this surprise meeting he was springing on my subordinates.

Did anyone recently tell you that your story is really great? Well, it is! I hope that you find the time – and the ideas – to continue this fantastic alternative universe story. Your characters are great, your story idea (the band, the music industry) seems to be thoroghly researched and .. well.. it is hot! Your style of writing with a lot of humor and funny dialogues just keeps me coming back to it again and again. Please update! My birthday is coming up so I’d like to make a wish for a new chapter…just joking ;) No really, I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants to read more and see what you might have in mind for Bette and Tina. Actually I was telling my girlfriend about PbH and had to translate some of it to her because her English isn’t good enough to read it herself. I really hope you’re not giving this up. Cheers!

Sassypants, would you believe that I haven’t logged into the site in quite sometime so I am just now seeing this? This past week I have been updating the story in terms of the technology used (phones, rideshare, etc) by the characters in this story and revising mechanical and grammatical errors so that it’s written a little better.
I have also had 3 additional chapters written for YEARS and just haven’t posted. My plan is to begin re-posting it so that it is all in one book (drop down chapters). I’d like to finish the story before that happens, and I’m a chapter (or two) away from making that a reality.
Anyway, it was nice to see a little nudge of encouragement. It’s nice to know that there is still some interest in this story.

You can definitely write, girl! And, I’m not a fan of being left hanging, or to my
own imagination to complete the story; as you would, no doubt, be so much
better at that task! Also, not in a hurry for this story to end, as I think there is a
plethora of plot lines to follow and embellish. Looking forward to more from you!!
