There, a question, but could she answer it? Tina steadied her breathing. She slowly turned so that her whole body was facing Alice, sitting across from each other their legs crossed underneath the blanket like school kids at a sleepover, she longed for that innocence again. Alice just looked at her waiting patiently for an answer she knew may never come. Tina answered as honestly as possible with three simple words, ‘We fell apart.’
More words could have been spoken but Tina’s answer was complete in its minimalism, Alice needing no more than those offered. Sensing that Tina wanted to talk but not knowing what to say Alice decided that now was the time to ask some of the questions that she had been making mental notes to get answers to when the opportunity arose, ‘How long has it been going on?’ Tina shrugged her shoulders.
‘I don’t know. I didn’t ask.’ Alice‘s curiosity apparent Tina knew what the next question would be, ‘How did I know?’ Alice nodded her head. ‘I saw them together.’ Alice’s mouth had dropped slightly, Tina was sure if she had been more awake her words would have garnered a bigger reaction but she knew what time it was and was grateful they were having this conversation in the hours of the morning when Alice was barely awake and not in full investigative reporter mode and where the only noise she had to contend with were the morning birds.
‘At Provocations. I was looking for Bette and I saw them outside. They were just talking, but there was more. The way she looked at her. I knew she’d seen all of her.’ Tina paused, she looked down at the blanket as her breathing became shallow and more urgent as she relived the moment. ‘The way she touched herhow their hands lingered when they parted.’ She looked back up at Alice, ‘I saw them. And I knew.’
Alice sensed the tears waiting to be released after Tina’s words and knew that Tina did not have the strength for another torrent of emotion. She seemed to be okay when she was talking, as though the emotions escaped through her words rather than her tears. So Alice asked another question, ‘What did Bette say?’ Tina wiped away an escaped tear followed by what Alice thought to be a stifled laugh.

the bigest mistake Bette did of course other then cheat on Tina..was not try talk to Tina after the affair..i hope here she go after Tina soon..cant wait for more thanks :o)
“Less emotionally draining”, you say? With the way you’re writing this I’m eagerly anticipating not just the next chapter, but the inevitability of Bette finally seeing Tina.
excellent update. i liked the whole mr. piddles investigation dream. it was a much needed comic relief. bette better get her act together and go see tina. can’t wait for next chapter and the emotional rollercoaster that will take us finally to the beginning of S2.
I’m glad to see Alice’s always there for Tee. The air seems lightened up. Maybe it’s time for TiBette to talk.
This was indeed a lighter chapter, especially with Alice’s dream. Very funny, actually. I can’t wait to see how you will bring about the meeting of Tina and Bette.
I hope Bette does not continue the affair with Candass and goes straight to Tina to try and fix things. Thanks a bunch.
communication – thats nice. love your words and the use if tgen, thanks and dont be gone so long next time.
I love how you’ve tackled that difficult scene in the finale, I cant wait till Tina talks about it and see what her perspective is on it. Watching both characters discuss the break up so sadly with their close counterparts is so heart tugging and eye watering, its excellent writing. Thank you.
Hope Bette will go after Tina and talk to her. Post soon please, thanks!
