    Happy anniversary!!! Why can’t you commit?

    “Well, I thought I would come and kidnap you…take you out on the town to celebrate.”

    Bette beamed a smile back at Meg. “You remembered!”

    “Are you kidding?” Meg looked at her incredulously. “How could I forget? You know as well as I do, that I have the invitation framed, and hanging on the wall next to the Sheri Waldon painting I bought that night.”

    Closing her eyes for a moment, Bette smiled at the memory of the opening night celebration for her gallery…today of which was the second year anniversary.

    “God, what a night that was. I thought I was going to sweat through my suit, I was so nervous.”

    Meg laughed at the thought of the poised and confident Bette Porter sweating at all, let alone sweating enough that someone would notice. Well, of course, that is except for in bed. She had no doubt ,that when in bed, her best friend…….okay, never mind! Instead of continuing with that line of thought, she looked around Bette’s office, marveling at the incredibly expensive artwork, looking just as poised and beautiful, as the woman they shared the office with.

    Meg thought that Bette had been smart in the construction of her gallery, and had designed her office to double as an exclusive private showing area…a space where only the most expensive, and exclusive paintings were displayed. It was genius really, because even though the gallery had only been open for two years, receiving an invitation to a showing in Bette Porter’s private office was considered to be the ultimate acknowledgment for any serious art collector. And, it was an invitation that both the wealthiest people in LA, as well as the most well known artists were clambering for. Imagine what that would do to the price of one of your paintings…especially in a city with the wealth that LA boasted…knowing that the painting was considered so important, that the only way someone could view it was by special invitation of the gallery owner herself? And, as for the artwork that was displayed in the rest of the gallery…well, the name Bette Porter had become so closely synonymous with prestige, and the highest of quality, that prices could be increased by at least 25% just because of the address where they were being displayed.

Does Tina’s non-committal behaviour to relationships have anything to do with that ‘giggle’ from the seashell? And that grown up, sexy version of her ‘giggle’ she heard 5 years ago at that party? Looking forward to when she hears the giggle again and be able to meet the owner of that giggle.

    33. Hi Sea – I may be wrong (and hope that I am), but it seems that you are fighting with this story a bit…maybe trying to decide which angle to go to bring it all together. I wish it would flow as easy as your first story for you. My point is I want you to know that we really appreciate when you post a story. I love your style and storylines and hope this is all a joy for you and not a writer’s block fight. By the way, I like the new twist you have thrown in here – great chapter (as usual).
