Ready When You Are Ch.13
Bette glared at Alice.
"Actually Al, I think Bette did the right thing." Dana said, putting down her beer and smiling at the brunette.
"It sounds like Tina has been going through a pretty crappy time lately. Maybe she just needs some time to think, clear her head." Dana shrugged, bringing her drink back up to her lips.
Bette gave the athlete a soft smile, and turned her attention back to Alice as the blonde rolled her eyes.
"If she doesn’t call within the next ten minutes, i’ll call her." Bette said, placing her phone on the table.
Dana nodded in agreement.
"Where is Shane anyway?" The brunette asked, looking around the bar for any sign of the young woman.
"God knows. She probably hooked up." Alice shrugged, as she downed the last of her beer.
Tina swirled the clear liquid around her glass as she looked down at the surface of the wooden bar.
"Then I told her I needed some time alone. I just needed to think, without any distractions." Tina said quietly, looking up at her friend.
"That sucks Tina, I’m really sorry." Shane said, gently rubbing the blonde’s arm as she placed her beer on the bar.
Tina smiled softly as she brought her glass up to her lips, enjoying the feel of the burning liquid as it made it’s way down her throat.
"I just hope Bette can get past all this…it just seems like, every time we get to a good place…I fuck it all up." The alcohol was beginning to affect the blonde, her emotions quickly making their way to the surface.
"Come here." Shane frowned and pulled Tina in for a hug.
"T…in no way is this your fault. And even if it was, I know that all Bette wants right now is for you to be happy. She loves you Tina." Shane gently stroked the blonde’s back as Tina relaxed into the embrace.
The blonde took a deep breath and exhaled, pulling back from the hug.
"I love her too." Tina said quietly, meeting her friend’s affectionate gaze.
Shane smiled. "I know you do, and so does Bette. You just need to let her be there for you."
Tina softly nodded.
Shane took another swig of her beer, as Tina carefully slipped off her barstool and placed her glass on the bar.

awsome. Cant wait till next time
Poor Tina so conflicted. I wish she would just let Bette give her the support she needs. Parents can be so manipulative sometimes, even when ill. Can’t wait for more.
WOW. My heart is beating sooooo fast. Great update. PPVVVS
Wish Bette could go with Tina, hope Tina doesn’t go listening to all the homophobic crap that I’m sure is to spew from her parents. Go visit and then go running home to Bette’s arms!! PPS:0
Feel bad for Tina but hope Bette will come after Tina and support her. Please post more, thanks!
Glad that Tina allowed Bette to comfort her in the end. At least there is still hope for them.
Great update. Can’t wait to see what happens. :)
BEAUTIFUL!!! Loving your story so much!!!! PPS!!
it seems to me they should make love b4 T departs…pps
I’m with Commander Rau on this one, they should make love before Tina leaves. And I know this next statement makes me a bitch, but I’m not completely convinced that Tina’s father is really all that sick, if at all. I think it is a ploy to get her bak home and try to make her stay.Parents have done shitty things like this to their children before. Once had a case where the daughter told the parents that she was gay and they brought her home under false pretense that one of them was ill and brought her to my office and had her committed for psychiatric evaluation. It happens everyday with homophobic parents. And I think Tina’s father is not beyond doing something like this and the mother going along with the scheme. Hope I’m wrong. Great chapter. PPS
Hmmm…this whole thing just doesn’t feel right. While it makes sense that Bette needs to respect Tina’s wishes, I think Tina is really going to need her support. I am suspicious about her family’s motives for calling her back from her vacation.
Aw what a great update… I’m glad they were able to talk and be there for one another! PPS
fab update. thank you.
YEAH, I’M OF THE SAME MIND AS DAINTY…had a personal experience that’s my reason so don’t trust the parents they can do crazy things.
