Ready When You Are Ch.13
Bette placed her free hand against her forehead and took a deep breath.
"Okay." The brunette said as she exhaled. "Thanks Shane, I know it’s not your fault."
"Don’t worry about it Bette. She’s fine, she’s just back at the hotel. I’ll catch you later ok?"
"Ok." Bette sighed.
"Oh, and Bette?" Shane quickly cut in before the brunette could hang up.
"Yeh?" Bette replied quietly.
"She loves you ok?" Shane said, leaning against the wall and looking out onto the busy street.
"Yeh." Bette smiled softly. "Thanks Shane."
Bette hung up the phone and picked her bag up off the table, quickly getting up from her chair.
"So?" Alice exclaimed, raising her eyebrows as she stared at the brunette, desperately wanting the gossip.
"Tina’s back at the hotel. I’m going." Bette said, as she began to walk towards the door. "I’ll see you guys later." The brunette called over her shoulder, as she disappeared out of sight.
Bette purposefully walked down the high street, desperately searching for any sign of a vacant cab.
She needed to get back to the hotel to see Tina. Why was she packing? She surely couldn’t be planning on leaving tonight…it was already past midnight.
Bette quickened her pace as she saw a couple getting out of a cab up the street. As she got to the car she quickly barged past a woman and practically jumped into the back-seat, giving the cabdriver the name of the hotel.
"Sorry, Emergency!" The brunette shouted out the window at the irritated woman, as the cab drove off down the street.
Bette hardly stopped to think as she made her way through the hotel, taking the elevator up to their floor as she swiftly strode through the corridor towards their room.
Bette stood outside the door and quietly cursed to herself, remembering that Tina had the only key.
She took a few seconds to catch her breath before gently knocking on the door.
Bette heard some shuffling inside the room and leaned away from the door as it slowly opened a fraction, Tina’s hazel eyes staring back at her through the gap.
"Hey." Tina smiled softly as she opened the door to let her girlfriend inside the room.
Bette noticed that the room was dark. A handful of candles were scattered around on the surfaces, providing the only light.

awsome. Cant wait till next time
Poor Tina so conflicted. I wish she would just let Bette give her the support she needs. Parents can be so manipulative sometimes, even when ill. Can’t wait for more.
WOW. My heart is beating sooooo fast. Great update. PPVVVS
Wish Bette could go with Tina, hope Tina doesn’t go listening to all the homophobic crap that I’m sure is to spew from her parents. Go visit and then go running home to Bette’s arms!! PPS:0
Feel bad for Tina but hope Bette will come after Tina and support her. Please post more, thanks!
Glad that Tina allowed Bette to comfort her in the end. At least there is still hope for them.
Great update. Can’t wait to see what happens. :)
BEAUTIFUL!!! Loving your story so much!!!! PPS!!
it seems to me they should make love b4 T departs…pps
I’m with Commander Rau on this one, they should make love before Tina leaves. And I know this next statement makes me a bitch, but I’m not completely convinced that Tina’s father is really all that sick, if at all. I think it is a ploy to get her bak home and try to make her stay.Parents have done shitty things like this to their children before. Once had a case where the daughter told the parents that she was gay and they brought her home under false pretense that one of them was ill and brought her to my office and had her committed for psychiatric evaluation. It happens everyday with homophobic parents. And I think Tina’s father is not beyond doing something like this and the mother going along with the scheme. Hope I’m wrong. Great chapter. PPS
Hmmm…this whole thing just doesn’t feel right. While it makes sense that Bette needs to respect Tina’s wishes, I think Tina is really going to need her support. I am suspicious about her family’s motives for calling her back from her vacation.
Aw what a great update… I’m glad they were able to talk and be there for one another! PPS
fab update. thank you.
YEAH, I’M OF THE SAME MIND AS DAINTY…had a personal experience that’s my reason so don’t trust the parents they can do crazy things.
