“Yeah. Hope so. When are Bette leaving again?” Martin asks.
“Next week, just 6 days left.” Tina says.
“And you’ll be leaving?” He asks.
“In a month or two.” Tina replies. “I’m not looking forward to be two months alone with Angelica. But… we’ll get through it.” Tina says and smiles.
“Yeah. I know you will. I think I’m starting to fall asleep again.” Martin says.
“Yeah, see it. We’ll get going. We’ll be back in a few days, take care of yourself.” Tina says.
“I will, and will you please consider what I asked?” He asks.
“I will. Evan, you want to give you dad a hug? He’ll feel better.” Tina asks Evan.
He nods slowly. Tina put him down on the bed carefully and holds him while he gives Martin a quick hug. Tina smiles and Martin also smiles. Evan quickly retreats to Tina’s arms.
“We’ll let you get some sleep. We’ll be back in a few days. Bye.” Tina says and walks towards the door.
“Bye, thanks for bringing him here.” Martin says. Tina turns and smiles as they walk out the door.
Half an hour later they walk through the door at home. Bette and Angelica are sitting on the couch, watching a cartoon. Angelica in Bette’s lap, totally relaxed.
“Hey baby, how is he?” Bette asks.
“He’s doing a lot better, he’ll be able to go home later this week.” Tina says. She takes off her jacket and then helps Evan with his. He immediately runs into his room to play. Tina takes a seat next to Bette, she leans in a kisses her.
“Babe, Martin asked me something today?” Tina says, looking straight at Bette.
“He did? What?” Bette asks, getting a little nervous.
“Yeah… He asked me if I were willing to be a mother figure to Evan.” Tina says and looks at Bette for her reaction.
“He did? What did you say?” Bette asks.
“That I had to talk to you before I gave any kind of answer.” Tina says and takes Bette’s hand in hers. “Actually he asked me if we would be Evan’s parents, should anything ever happen to him.” Tina says. “The both of us.” Tina says.
“We would, wouldn’t we? If something happens to Martin, we should take care of Evan. We’re already in love with the little guy.” Bette says and smiles.
“Yes, we are. But shall I accept the proposal as a mother figure?” Tina asks. “If you feel anything about it, please say so.” Tina says.
Bette smiles and squeezes Tina’s hand softly.
“T, that little boy would be so lucky to have you as a motherly figure. You really don’t have to ask my permission to say yes. All though I appreciate you did. I love you.” Bette says and smiles as she leans in and kisses Tina again.
“I love you too.” Tina replies and leans her head down on Bette’s shoulder.

I know that Martin is Evan’s dad, but I sure do wish that Bette and Tina was his sole guardians, and Martin be the fatherly figure for him. Love this fic. More Bette and Evan interaction. He still seems alittel afraid or timid around her.
I still have a feeling somethings gonna happen. They need to put that in writing because if they don’t and something happens they are gonna get attatched to that kid and then a relative will come out the woodwork.
Bette love the little fellow,Tina is really more the Motherly figure and Bette the Strong type. Hope Evans and Bette needs to get closer together. They only have 6 days to do so. thanks

Wow, Bette and Tina have come a long way. The way that they are checking in with each other before agreeing to something. It is so nice to see them putting their life back together as lovers and mothers.
i agree with sky… but i also believe that martin is going to disappear… leaving evan with tina and bette… love this story…please continue
I agree that something NEEDS to be put into writing (a living will), and I also believe that there needs to be more bonding between Bette and Evan. The fact that Bette lost her mother when she was young could serve as a GREAT bonding point between Bette and Evan. I know that most (including myself ) would like to see Evan as a part of B&T’s family, but it is alos inprotant for Evan to have a strong and good male role model in his life and Martin could fill that bill. GREAT job Lauren PPS :o)
