Doctor- Of course it would help, a lot, but you have to prepare her for what she’s going to see. She may expect to see, Mamma B was it? (Tina nodded yes) She may expect to see her awake and even ready to do things she’s used to do with her and it can be a shock for her to see Bette in this state. So I suggest that before you bring her here someone sits with her, preferably you Tina or it could be Ms. Porter or someone really close to her and explain in a way she understands what’s happening to her Momma B; but I think it would be an excellent idea to bring her. I’m sure it will do a lot of good to Bette to feel her daughter’s presence and hear her voice. 

     Tina- Ok…good, I’ll think about it then. Thanks doctor, I’ll see you this afternoon.

     Doctor- Tina…may I suggest you go home, be with your daughter, rest a little. You won’t be any good to Bette if you get sick.

     Kit- We’ve all been trying to get her to go home doctor, but she won’t listen, you don’t know how stubborn Bette can be and we think her stubbornness has rubbed on baby girl here.

     Tina- I won’t leave her until she wakes up!

     Doctor- Ok, that’s your decision, but really think about it and think about your daughter…See you later Tina, good bye Ms. Porter.

The doctor left. Kit was sitting in a chair and Tina was standing besides Bette’s bed holding her hand. After about 10 minutes Kit spoke:

     Kit- Tina…Baby girl I think you should listen to the doctor and go home for a little bit even if it’s just to take a shower, see Angie and then come back.

     Tina- I’m NOT leaving her Kit.

     Kit- I understand, but you have to think about yourself and your well being, and even if you don’t care about you think about my little nice. Right now she can’t be with her Momma B, so it’s not fair to her to not have her Momma T either. Just think about it, I know you love Bette, we all do, but you have to think about Angelica too. (Silence from Tina) Well I’m going to the house to check on Angie, I’ll tell the girls they can come visit Bette this afternoon and I’ll tell Angelica her mommas love her and will be with her very soon.

With that Kit stood up and went to the other side of the bed, took Bette’s hand, kissed her forehead and spoke:

     Kit-  I love you baby sis, I love you so much, now you hurry up and get better so I can whip your butt for being so stubborn. (Kissing her again and crying) I love you.

Watching Kit walk away, Tina squeezed Bette’s hand harder and started to cry. She knew Kit was right but how could she leave the love of her life. She knew it wasn’t fair to Angie to loose both her mommies, but what could she do. She looked up at Bette:

     Tina- (crying) Baby, you have to wake up. Please, Angie and I need you so much. I can’t go on with my life if your not here with me. Como on Bette wake up, baby I know you’re stubborn but don’t be like that now.  We have so much good ahead of us, so many things to look forward, don’t make live them and experience them without you. Baby I love you so much, but I’m starting to agree with Alice and Kit and I will also kick your butt when you wake up for being so stubborn. Why didn’t you listen to me, to the girls? We asked you to leave, I begged you to leave, but no you had to stay and listen to that man and why? Because you are so, so stubborn. So guess what as soon as you wake up, first I’ll kiss you, second I’ll tell you how much I love you and third I will kick your butt (She said this smiling) but all that will happen if you wake up and if you get better.  Wake up Bette, WAKE UP DAMN IT! Please wake up…

Tina started to cry harder until she fell asleep like she has done since the night of the shooting.
