“Bette. God… I love you…”
“I am going to make you come Tina”
“Close Babe…”
“Look at me Tee, open your eyes when you come… there you are…”
“I’m… I’m coming… I’m… coming… I’m…”
And she came, collapsing in Bette’s arms at the end, unable to stand.
Breakfast forgotten for the moment.
“Well… look who’s here, forty minutes late but we just ordered so…”
“Hey, everyone… sit here Love, I’ll get you your breakfast… and your coffee.”
“Thanks Bette… Al, where’s Shane?”
“At the counter, you know she won’t talk to anyone until she gets her morning shot…”
Bette chuckled then let her fingers trail the back of Tina’s shoulders as she left the table and made her way to the counter to stand next to her neighbor.
“Shane, can I talk to you?”
“Of course, Bette, just had my jolt of caffeine, you ok?”
“Last night, when Eric…”
“Yep, say no more. It’s not good…”
Bette ordered breakfast for herself and Tina, then turned once again to Shane, her eyes searching as they moved away from the cashier…
“Did you know? You are there some days, did you know she is being harassed?”
“I suspected. I am not usually in the offices; I stay on set… but I’ve heard things. It’s a man’s world Bette…”
“It is utterly contemptible, Shane. Unacceptable.”
“She commands a lot of respect there, for what it’s worth.”
“Well. That’s all well and good but I have heard enough. I have my attorney working right now on a cease and desist letter to give to their CEO.”
Shane whistled… “You could kill her career you know. Hollywood is not very forgiving of those that don’t keep to the status quo…”
“That perpetuates the problem, Shane. The more women that stay quiet, the more the locker room behavior will occur.”
“That’s true… but, shit… Bette, she would be done regardless. Does Tina know you talked to a lawyer?”
“No… she does not. Details, Shane. Details. I will not abide this egregious behavior any longer…”
“Hold on, breathe. Why doesn’t she switch to another production company, not all are as large and old school as this one. She’s really good, the crew would follow her, some of the writers too. She could clean them out, impact their bottom line. That would get their attention more than a letter. Lawyers, I don’t know, man… it would get ugly Bette, her word against everyone else…”

Bette will be violating her new standard of taking action without consulting Tina if she goes ahead and goes through with the lawyer’s letter to cease and desist.! She chastise Tina for doing the same thing earlier in the story by plotting revenge against Jodi without consulting Bette. Either she and Tina are a team or they are two individuals. Hopefully Shane’s advice got through to Bette otherwise there will be more trouble ahead for her and Tina.
What could Carmen have which will give Bette and Tina leverage for revenge over Jodi? Can’t wait for the next chapter.

Thank you for reading Martha! Bette will always be Bette and you are absolutely correct the lawyer will be a problem if she doesn’t talk to Tina about it before moving forward. I havent decided yet which she will do, there is an element of Bette that plows ahead consequences be damned but I am trying to show a changed more thoughtful partner….

Bette has come too far to make an horrendous error like this. Let her go to Tina and let them have a fuss about it but don’t let her do it. That may accomplish what you are looking for.

Even with delicious intrigue present with every chapter of this marvelous story,that classy, sensuous style of how these these two “see” each other is captivating. Doin’ a gr8 job of having them remember the things they “used” to do for one another. Now their passion comes from a much deeper well

The love scenes showing the reaffirmation of their love were amazing, I hope Bette listens to Shane’s advice not to destroy Tina’s career. Does that mean that Tina will move to Chicago if she gets a job with the new studio?
I dont see Tina moving to Chicago but I do see Chicago being a hot mess. :)

This was truly a wonderful passage that makes me laugh, because Tina was hilarious, and then smile because I know I can so easily, in my life, indulge myself in the most unrestrained lyricism *wink*
I totally trust your Bette and Tina, they learn so much from their mistakes and will nevermore take each other for granted. Here and there, of course, they’re able to relapse a bit – it’s human – but not for long and that’s the essential.
