    Sitting elegantly at the top of the building was a cool, stylish name. The Porter-Kennard Gallery. Inside were letterhead samples and a logo depicting ‘pk’ in Bette’s handwriting that was chic and artfully done. Tina was astonished. The tears that had sprung to her eyes at Bette’s first announcement now ran freely down her cheeks

    Sitting elegantly at the top of the building was a cool, stylish name. The Porter-Kennard Gallery. Inside were letterhead samples and a logo depicting ‘pk’ in Bette’s handwriting that was chic and artfully done. Tina was astonished. The tears that had sprung to her eyes at Bette’s first announcement now ran freely down her cheeks and she thought her heart might jump out of her chest it felt so big. A lump formed in her throat, she did it she did it, she thought. My God she did it.

    Bette cupped her cheeks and wiped the tears away. She leaned in close, “it’s us, Baby. It has always been us for me. Always. Honor me with your name on our gallery, next to mine. I am nothing without you. Don’t cry, Tee…don’t cry my love”.

    Tina covered her eyes with her hands and cried and cried. She was approaching an ugly cry, her shoulders shaking and the tears pooling on her chin to drip on the tablecloth below her. Bette was alarmed, she had not seen Tina cry like this since their separation and she pulled Tina to her, rubbing her back and whispering in her ear. Tina shook in Bette’s arms, her hand reaching up to grasp Bette’s wrist and her heart simply overwhelmed with emotion.

    It was too much. She had been holding it together, for Bette, in the aftermath of Jodie’s art show and through the flu. She had felt so alone. So alone. Added to that was the drama surrounding Elena and now working with Jodie. She took a deep breath and pulled away from Bette. Her breath hitched in her throat and she reached for her water glass, her hand shaking slightly. Taking a sip, she turned to look at her alarmed wife. She couldn’t form the words she needed.

    Tina dabbed at her eyes with her napkin as she looked again at Bette, her chin still trembling. “I love it Honey, I love it and I love you and I love us. And I am honored, flattered and fucking grateful that you want my name next to yours. Thank you, Baby. I love you…I love you”. Bette swallowed, tears now coming to her eyes. Tears of relief and happiness. She lifted her glass and toasted the moment, taking a sip and looking at Tina, concerned. “What is it, Tee? Tell me. What in the world…”

      I am so proud that they are talking about their feelings and how Bette expressed her hurt to Tina. She was so right that they have to share and trust each other so that nobody can hurt them and try to come in between them.

    3. Fantastic !!! and yeah that’s true, I found season 6 a little botched, with more questions than answers and that’s why I’m infuriated at the thought of the new show, we’ll never get the answers !

      • Sorry to hear you have had a rough time of late, hopefully you are on the other side of what ever is going on! Thank you for your kind words (again) and for loving this story. I agree that Bette was always more tender, and open about her feelings and Tina was more reserved on the show. I am hoping to show that Tina still needs some work in this area, but that she is finally trying. I cherish their relationship too and hope we can all experience something close to this in our own lives…..
        Look for the next chapter Friday, assuming I can get my work done this week. It is written but I proofread obsessively and often change the story on the final read through….
