    Reprisal Reprised- Chapter 17

After leaving both of her numbers, she hung up, wondering how long it would take for Bette to return her call.

Walking around her house, she looked for something that would occupy her time and get her mind off of Bette.  Picking up a script that had been sent over from the office, she settled onto the sofa, hoping that reading this would do the trick.

Glancing at her watch noting the time, she turned back the cover page, and muttered, “Page one.  Here we go…”

“You’re really serious about this aren’t you?” smiled Bette.

“Absolutely” laughed Stuart.  “Have lunch with me and I’ll tell you more.”

Looking at her watch, Bette saw that it was already 12:15.  “Good Lord, Stuart.  We’ve been in here for almost three hours already.”

“Well, as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

“I wasn’t aware that we were discussing building Rome” chuckled Bette.

“Rome, building a new gallery, who am I to say that there’s a difference?”

“I believe that the ancient Romans would have an opinion about that” laughed Bette.

“And as they are no longer around to share it with us, what say we continue this fascinating conversation over lunch.”

“You’re not gonna give up, are you?” teased Bette.

“Not until I get what I want, absolutely not” was the response delivered with a twinkle in the eye.

“Fine” sighed Bette, finally giving in.  “Let me just check in with Shelly and see what’s been happening while I’ve been holed up in here with you” she said as she stood from her chair.

“Please” responded Stuart with a magnanimous wave of the hand, “as you wish.”

Chuckling and shaking her head as she left her office, she walked up to Shelly who was just getting off of the phone.

“Well, look who has decided to make an appearance” teased Shelly.

    “You know Stuart” laughed Bette.

“And what are the two of you up to in there?”

“Oh, Stuart has another one of his crazy ideas that he cooked up during his afternoon nap yesterday.”

    “And?” asked Shelly.

“And” said Bette, “we’re going to have lunch in order to discuss it further.”

    1. it breaks my TiBette heart see Tina sufering like this so fucking hard..i hope Bette find in her heart a way to give to Tina and to them a second chance..cant wait for more thanks

    2. Bette’s trying to distance herself from her and Tina, but it’s not really working. Ignoring it insteading of dealing with it is entirely different and can be quite difficult. Hopefully, Tina can get her to open up. Please continue.

    3. Ah, Skipton, there you are…up on a plateau, looking down on all Fanficdom. When you look around, you don’t see many others with you, do you? Huummmm……..

    4. Amazing chapter…you have the hability to put us right in the moment and feel the emotion they are both experiencing…I feel bad for them, they are both hurting so much… I hope Bette can be the bigger persone and hear Tina out and not do to Tina what was done to her…post real soon.

    5. Yes Bette does remember, but it will take time for Tina to melt her harden heart. They really need to talk to work their way thru this. Please continue Skip great jog :o)

    6. Methinks Techgal pretty well summed it all up for us mere mortals. Thanks once again for sharing your writing skills. You, like Olives, have the ability to transport your audience right to the very scene of action. Can’t wait till your next post.

    7. Hear, hear to what techgal said. It’ll be a long a painful journey to healing and hopefully getting back together for Tina and Bette. At least they will be starting to deal with their pain and hopefully Bette will no longer try to deny and ignore her pain. Thanks for sharing your talent, Skip.

    8. You know I just read all of the chapters of this story and is so love it. They are so emotion, sad, hurt and so sad for them and hope they talk and work thing out. Ok post soon please, thanks!

    9. Skip, I’m a new convert. You are converting me back to being a lover of Tina’s character in this story. The chapter is rich with emotional intrigue. Seems like DL95 and I had the same idea this week. I love to re-visit your stories, they are classics. Tipping my hat to Techgal, she says it best.

    10. Just because she doesn’t think about it… or admit to thinking about it doesn’t mean that it’s not what should be. You can try to ignore love but in the end it’s the only thing that counts. Even if you can’t act on it at the time.

    11. I love how there is such a great roll reversal in this stroy. Tina as the fighter for Bette’s love and trust. It’s a nice change of pace. I can’t wait to hear what T has to say to B about why she left in the middle of the night. Please post soon. Keep up the great work!
