    Reprisal Reprised- Chapter 17

“Wow, must be something that you’re considering if you’re having lunch with him.”

“We’ll see” said Bette noncommittally as she reached for her stack of messages.

“Anything going on that I need to know about?” she asked as she began to leaf through the different messages.

“Nope” answered Shelly, “everything’s fine.  Oh wait” she added, “Tina called and wants you to call her back.”

“I see that” said Bette as she had just arrived at the message from Tina.  Looking at the time on the note, she saw that she had called hours ago.

“She called this morning?” confirmed Bette.

“Yeah, 9:30 or so I think.  She left you a voicemail also, but wanted me to be sure to let you know she called because she seemed to be aware of how good you are at checking your messages” she smirked.

Looking down at Shelly, Bette caught the laughter in her voice.

“You think that’s funny?” she asked.

“Do you see me laughing?” smiled Shelly.  “I’m simply repeating what your ex-wife said.”

“Tina” said Bette.  “I’ve told you, her name is Tina.”

“RightTina” chuckled Shelly as she turned back to her computer.

Bette dropped the messages back down on Shelly’s desk and headed towards her office.

“Check your voicemail, Bette” she reminded her as she walked away, chuckling to herself as she returned to her e-mail.

Walking through the front door of her house, Tina dropped her bag and keys on the chair just to the left of it.

She had read as much of the terrible script that she could handle and seeing that only one hour had passed, knew that she needed to get out of the house.

Waiting for Bette to call her back was driving her crazy and she knew the best way to burn some of that nervous energy was to go to the gym.

The spin class had been great for that reason, but once she had showered and left the gym, her mind went directly back to Bette.

“C’mon Bette” she said as she looked at her cell, seeing that she had no missed calls.  She debated stopping at The Planet to pick up some lunch but figured that she didn’t need to get into another lengthy conversation with Kit again, not until she had at least had a chance to talk to Bette.

    1. it breaks my TiBette heart see Tina sufering like this so fucking hard..i hope Bette find in her heart a way to give to Tina and to them a second chance..cant wait for more thanks

    2. Bette’s trying to distance herself from her and Tina, but it’s not really working. Ignoring it insteading of dealing with it is entirely different and can be quite difficult. Hopefully, Tina can get her to open up. Please continue.

    3. Ah, Skipton, there you are…up on a plateau, looking down on all Fanficdom. When you look around, you don’t see many others with you, do you? Huummmm……..

    4. Amazing chapter…you have the hability to put us right in the moment and feel the emotion they are both experiencing…I feel bad for them, they are both hurting so much… I hope Bette can be the bigger persone and hear Tina out and not do to Tina what was done to her…post real soon.

    5. Yes Bette does remember, but it will take time for Tina to melt her harden heart. They really need to talk to work their way thru this. Please continue Skip great jog :o)

    6. Methinks Techgal pretty well summed it all up for us mere mortals. Thanks once again for sharing your writing skills. You, like Olives, have the ability to transport your audience right to the very scene of action. Can’t wait till your next post.

    7. Hear, hear to what techgal said. It’ll be a long a painful journey to healing and hopefully getting back together for Tina and Bette. At least they will be starting to deal with their pain and hopefully Bette will no longer try to deny and ignore her pain. Thanks for sharing your talent, Skip.

    8. You know I just read all of the chapters of this story and is so love it. They are so emotion, sad, hurt and so sad for them and hope they talk and work thing out. Ok post soon please, thanks!

    9. Skip, I’m a new convert. You are converting me back to being a lover of Tina’s character in this story. The chapter is rich with emotional intrigue. Seems like DL95 and I had the same idea this week. I love to re-visit your stories, they are classics. Tipping my hat to Techgal, she says it best.

    10. Just because she doesn’t think about it… or admit to thinking about it doesn’t mean that it’s not what should be. You can try to ignore love but in the end it’s the only thing that counts. Even if you can’t act on it at the time.

    11. I love how there is such a great roll reversal in this stroy. Tina as the fighter for Bette’s love and trust. It’s a nice change of pace. I can’t wait to hear what T has to say to B about why she left in the middle of the night. Please post soon. Keep up the great work!
