    Reprisal Reprised- Chapter 17

“No, I’m not telling you that.  I’m sure that they are sleeping together as a matter of fact.  It’s just that, I don’t know, Bette doesn’t seem all that into it.”

“And why do you say that?” asked Tina.  “Is that what Bette said?”

“She never told me that in so many words, it’s just something that I’ve picked up on.”

“Al-” Tina began but was interrupted by the beep signaling a call on the other line.  “Hold on” she said as she quickly switched over to the other line.

    “Hello?” she answered.

    “Tina?  Hi, it’s Bette.”

“Hi” she said, hoping that Bette was not able to hear the relief in her voice that she knew was there.

    “How are you?”

“Good and you?” Tina asked as she walked inside to the sofa to sit down.

“Pretty good, busy, but good” she answered.

“Thanks for calling me back” she said as she smiled into the phone, willing her heart rate to slow down.

“Sure” said Bette.  “Sorry it took me so long but I had an unscheduled meeting take place that spilled over to lunch.”

“Everything ok?” asked Tina, the worry in her voice evident.

“No no” said Bette, “everything’s fine.  Just some ideas being tossed around.”

“Ok” said Tina.  “If you need to bounce anything off of me, please know that you can.”

“Thanks” said Bette.  “I’ll keep that in mind.”

“Oh *****, Bette, hold on one second, ok?”

    “Sure” she answered.

Switching back over to Alice, Tina said, “Hey, it’s Bette.  I gotta call you back.  Bye.”

Without giving Alice a chance to respond, she came back to Bette and said, “You there?”

    “Yeah.”

“Sorry ’bout that, that was Al on the other line and I needed to get off.”

“Not a problem” responded Bette.  “How’s she doing anyway?”

“Fine, you know Al.  Same ol’ same ol’.”

“No surprises there” chuckled Bette.  After a brief pause, she continued, “So, you still want to get together?”

Exhaling, Tina said, “I’m guessing you know the answer to that.”

“Ok” said Bette.  “What did you have in mind?  Do you want to do lunch this week?  We could meet somewhere.”

    1. it breaks my TiBette heart see Tina sufering like this so fucking hard..i hope Bette find in her heart a way to give to Tina and to them a second chance..cant wait for more thanks

    2. Bette’s trying to distance herself from her and Tina, but it’s not really working. Ignoring it insteading of dealing with it is entirely different and can be quite difficult. Hopefully, Tina can get her to open up. Please continue.

    3. Ah, Skipton, there you are…up on a plateau, looking down on all Fanficdom. When you look around, you don’t see many others with you, do you? Huummmm……..

    4. Amazing chapter…you have the hability to put us right in the moment and feel the emotion they are both experiencing…I feel bad for them, they are both hurting so much… I hope Bette can be the bigger persone and hear Tina out and not do to Tina what was done to her…post real soon.

    5. Yes Bette does remember, but it will take time for Tina to melt her harden heart. They really need to talk to work their way thru this. Please continue Skip great jog :o)

    6. Methinks Techgal pretty well summed it all up for us mere mortals. Thanks once again for sharing your writing skills. You, like Olives, have the ability to transport your audience right to the very scene of action. Can’t wait till your next post.

    7. Hear, hear to what techgal said. It’ll be a long a painful journey to healing and hopefully getting back together for Tina and Bette. At least they will be starting to deal with their pain and hopefully Bette will no longer try to deny and ignore her pain. Thanks for sharing your talent, Skip.

    8. You know I just read all of the chapters of this story and is so love it. They are so emotion, sad, hurt and so sad for them and hope they talk and work thing out. Ok post soon please, thanks!

    9. Skip, I’m a new convert. You are converting me back to being a lover of Tina’s character in this story. The chapter is rich with emotional intrigue. Seems like DL95 and I had the same idea this week. I love to re-visit your stories, they are classics. Tipping my hat to Techgal, she says it best.

    10. Just because she doesn’t think about it… or admit to thinking about it doesn’t mean that it’s not what should be. You can try to ignore love but in the end it’s the only thing that counts. Even if you can’t act on it at the time.

    11. I love how there is such a great roll reversal in this stroy. Tina as the fighter for Bette’s love and trust. It’s a nice change of pace. I can’t wait to hear what T has to say to B about why she left in the middle of the night. Please post soon. Keep up the great work!
