    Reprisal Reprised- Chapter 26

“You look like you’re a million miles away” smiled Kit as she placed the basket of pastries on the table in front of Tina, taking a seat across from her.

“God Kit” she said as she chuckled at the food.  “You’re sister is not going to recognize me if you keep feeding me like this.”

“You’re too thin!” admonished Kit.  “And so is my sister” she continued.  “The two of you could use a little fattening up.”

“Well” said Tina as she reached for a blueberry muffin.  “I don’t know ‘bout that but I will certainly feel free to blame you when Bette wonders who I am” she giggled.

“Bette would love you no matter what you looked like and you know it.”

“You think?” Tina asked as she put the muffin back down on the table.

“Absolutely” said Kit as she nodded her head in emphasis.  “If there was ever a question ‘bout two people destined to spend their lives together, it would be the two of you.”

“Destiny?  Soul mates?  All that stuff?” smiled Tina.

“Exactly” said Kit as she too reached for a muffin.

“I don’t disagree with you” said Tina, “but I’d kinda like to stop testing your theory and just get on with it if you know what I mean.”

“When are you going up there to visit?”

“Good question” said Tina as she reached for one of the bottled waters that Kit had also brought.  “I’ve asked your sister that same question every time that we’ve talked and we’ve yet to agree on a date.”

    “Schedules conflicting?”

“Schedule conflicting” corrected Tina.  “Bette’s, not mine.”

“I swear that girl’s gonna work herself into an early grave.”

Tina looked over at Kit with a raised eyebrow.  “Kit…” she said in a warning tone.

“Well, you know what I mean.  All she does is work, work, work.  Like there’s nothing else in life to do.”

“She does work too much” Tina agreed, “but I’d like to think that an early grave is not in her future.”

“Why don’t you stop waiting on her and just go up there?” asked Kit.

“What?  And just surprise her?” Tina asked skeptically.

    1. aaahhh, what a nice chunk to read…5 whole pages, Now that you have me hooked again, pls, pls don’t wait too long to post I love reading what you have to write…Thanks!

    2. Thank you Skipton…as you probably know from all my messages…I really love this story. I hope this is a wonderful weekend of love and reconnecting. You just have a way of making this story so real…I feel like I am watching them up close and personal. It seems like Bette dosen’t care if she dosen’t go back to LA. I hope you post again soon. Thanks again.

    3. Excellent Skip. Just beautiful. We’ve been waiting for so long, and voila, you surprised us. Can’t wait to read more about Tina’s visit to Carmel. They are absolutely adorable. It’s nice to know that even though Bette moved, they still have so much love for eachother. I adore Tina’s persistence, but I also love Bette keeping things at this slower pace. I just want Tina to move in already LOL,but only time will tell i guess.Bring on the romance Skip. LOVING IT SKIP.Thanks. PPS.

    4. Well I’d call you a tease, but it was worth the wait. One quibble, though. When the guy asked Tina if she needed help, she had the perfect opportunity to say “Take me to your leader.” How could you pass that up? But otherwise, well, you know, it was great. I know infants can keep one busy, but can you supply our fix a little more often? Over here jonesing.

    5. Wonderful story..love how Tina keep ‘babying’ Bette in this post :)Thanks for taking the time from your parenting duty to give us another fab chapter.

    6. Thank you, Thank you. U are forgiven for the looooooooooooong delay. This is one of my favorite fics. I will continue to read and enjoy as long as u continur to POST!!! LOVED the chapter. They are making progress. But have noticed that Bette never says Tina’s name when she says that she love her. Why is that? Is it because she is still holding part of herself back from Tina because she still does not totally TRUST her?

    7. I know the storyline is different but this is how I see the characters attempting to reconcile (if at all possible really) after S3. Bette’s uncertainty and longing, Tina’s measured steps and gentle pursuit. Alas, the rushed episodes won’t allow for the relationship to unfold as you’ve carefully allowed here. Thank you for writing.

    8. First, as always, it is truely wonderful to see a post with your name on it! I can’t help but to think that Tina is desperate and she might do better is she didn’t pull back a bit. Bette has her exactly where she wants her. I am glad that at least, they are together in the same place. Post soon

    9. I kept waiting for “une catastrophe,” as a French friend of mine used to say. My eyes were glued to the print, and my heart was in my throat for the entire exquisite five pages. Thanks for leading me so well!

    10. everytime you post a chapter it makes me happier…i love how this story is going, wonderful…hopefully slowly they can rebuild their life together…thank you

    11. Ah…Skippie. Five whole pages of delight. Such happiness to see that you’ve posted. I savored every word, sentence, luxioriating in the beautiful imagery that you’ve created. PPS. It was wonderful.

    12. Glad that you were able to post. How is the baby? I will always love a good Bette and Tina story especially when they are trying to live as friends and lovers again.

    13. Hey Skip, Awesome to have you back doing your excellent storytelling. This is a real delight and pleasure. After all of the trauma of the past it was great to see the gals just take some time and be with one another. Kit was a class act as she saw through Tina and gave her the necessary push in Bette’s direction. It was pleasing to have the gals actually discuss how they were feeling and what they were thinking about. This prevented the Stuart dinner becoming a problem. Open and honest discussion is the best way forward. Tina’s surprise arrival was joyous and humorous as Bette used the well worn “a friend” line with the workmen. Chortle city! And then onto Bette’s place as the comfort and closeness of these gals was rekindled. I hope that the simple act of sharing a bed is the beginning of a beautiful relationship. The love is there but they need to find the understanding and compromise again. I adore yher tenderness and gentleness you created between Bette and Tina. Please continue and brighten my days. Many, many thanks for this wondrous adventure, Your Loyal Fan.

    14. I need to go to sleep before I faint from the brilliance of your writing and seeing that you were able to post. If you can, please post soon! More importantly, I hope all is well with the baby.

    15. Skip!!! Am happy happy happy!!! I’ve been waiting and waiting, and went back to read the previous chapter so many times…Thank you for this. Guess the next chapter will be a while coming, but please don’t torture us too long eh?
