    Reunion

Tina looked up and smiled when she saw who was standing in her doorway.
"Hi, stranger," Bette said. A few images of a scantily clad Tina from her morning fantasy presented themselves without invitation. She was interested to discover if she enjoyed their real life re-introduction as much as she’d enjoyed the one she had imagined. "I’m not interrupting you, am I?"
"Come on in," Tina stood up and made her way around the desk. She walked over and they embraced briefly in greeting. "It’s so good to see you." She waved toward a chair in silent invitation for Bette to sit down.
"It would seem as though first year art history lead you down a dark and tortured path," Tina said, leaning back onto the edge of her desk. "I discovered you’ve made quite a name for yourself, curating world class exhibits."
"You know I work in the neighborhood from the information on my card," Bette said. "But how did you find out about those details?"
"I searched for you online," Tina admitted sheepishly.
Bette read Tina’s embarrassment and sought to reassure her.
"How do you think I found out where your office is?" Bette asked, raising her eyebrows as she made the inquiry.
"Oh…" Tina processed briefly, while her heart rate increased, almost imperceptibly. "Of course. You googled me too."
They both paused to consider the implications of their mutual curiosity.
"Congratulations on the success of the show," Tina offered. "I’ve heard nothing but great things about the exhibit."
"It’s been an amazing year," Bette never tired of hearing praise for her hard work. "How about you? Have you enjoyed your time here so far?"
"It’s been busy, but we’ve made some important progress," Tina said. She’d learned over the years that no one really wanted to hear about her work. They were asking to be polite. She was however, interested in what Bette had been involved with. "I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t seen the Picasso exhibit yet."
"We can remedy that," Bette said. "Pick a day and I’ll give you a personal tour."
"I’d love that," Tina said sincerely. "But I don’t want to put you to any extra work."

    1. Oh, they are not on the same page yet. What happens if no one else is around to prod Tina? Will she act on her own or just give in to her doubts and lack of confidence? Will she let this chance reunion pass? Can’t wait to find out in your next posts. Thanks a lot for this treat, jks. Cheers! =)

    2. Wait, back when they knew each other in college Bette wasn’t aware of her orientation??? Now that’s an interesting twist! But the part that intrigues me most is that your Tina is the brainiac physicist Dr. Kennard! Mmmmm, I think I’m in love – thanks Swimmie :o) . Maybe you could have her do some kind of colliding particle experiment with Bette ;o)

    3. When I read Tina introduce Zach I thought “whoa whoa!” ✋😧👈 what are you doing Tina? I wondered why Bette didn’t stick around to find out what kind of partner he was. Thanks 🐠

    4. Wonderful chapter. Gosh you’re gonna make them work for it aren’t you. And Tina is smarter than Einstein and prettier too. Well Tina honey, get to moving and make that call. Surely Bette’s cell number should be on that card. Thanks for posting.

    5. The heck happened?….man, they are on their “way”…yeah fixed this up Dr.Kennard. Cuz if you let her make the first move again..you two would be 80 if that’s likely happen…:P

    6. Phew! Finally manage to catch up :-)… hey JKS :-) thanks for giving us another story! A very intriguing beginning may I say! And Tina being so not bright on introducing her “partner” on her crush *doh!* and Bette for being so easily scared off! Pretty interesting, as their roles now not so usual ;-) and the possibilities of having long distance relationship might be there also.. Which may lead to another branch of many possibilities also.. Anyway JKS.. Choose anyway, and we will still read whatever you share here :-) hehehe.. ;-)

    7. Dr. Kennard doesn’t just need wingman, it appears she needs a cadre of associates to HELP HER GET A CLUE! Her intelligence is appealing and, as the brain is the most erogenous of all erogenous zones, she should be very capable once she puts her mind fully to the task of reviving their old acquaintance. Love this twist. Thanks!
