"Never work," Bette said. "It would be my pleasure."
"Well, then we’ll come up with a day that fits both our schedules. I’d love a personal tour."
Bette was on the verge of asking Tina if she had time to leave her office for a break when movement at the doorway caught their attention.
"Hey Tee," a striking dark haired man in his mid 30s stood tentatively at the doorway.
Tina grasped his arm and encouraged him to step inside.
"Bette this is my partner Zack," Tina started. "Zack this is Bette Porter. We had a first year class together and I ran into her this morning – on the subway of all places."
"So nice to meet you," Zack extended his hand and smiled broadly.
Bette stood to shake his hand, completely deflated at the idea she’d just been introduced to Tina’s partner. She was feeling pretty off her game to have misinterpreted her to that extent.
"Nice to meet you too," Bette replied with a broad smile before turning to Tina. "Anytime you want that tour, give me a call. I do have to get back to the gallery."
Before Tina could react, Bette excused herself from her office and was on her way back to work.
"She was the one you saw this morning?" Zach asked, ducking back inside Tina’s office after he watched Bette step onto the elevator.
"Yes," Tina said, flopping down in her own chair.
"Then why in the world did you introduce me as your partner?"
"Because that’s what you are," Tina was perplexed at his question.
"I’m your research partner," Zack shook his head. "And she was here because she’s interested too. Why can’t women be more like men and just ask each other if they want to fuck?"
"So I should have said ‘this is my gay work husband in whom I confide all’?" Tina suggested.
"Would have been less likely to result in her making the quick get away," Zack said derisively. He shrugged. "Oh well, you know what you have to do."
"You’re going to make me call her, aren’t you?"
"She said she’d give you a tour; take her up on the offer!"
"Okay," Tina said. "At least I can leave a message because she won’t be back at her office yet.
She dialed Bette’s office number for the second time that day, once again having been encouraged by a friend who only wanted the best for her.

Oh, they are not on the same page yet. What happens if no one else is around to prod Tina? Will she act on her own or just give in to her doubts and lack of confidence? Will she let this chance reunion pass? Can’t wait to find out in your next posts. Thanks a lot for this treat, jks. Cheers! =)
Physics Tina is a brainiac
Tina is kinda lame socially but very cute/sweet.
Hopefully, Tina will gain the confidence she needs. Hang in the Bette, it’s Tina’s next move and she will make one. Right, Swimmie?

Wait, back when they knew each other in college Bette wasn’t aware of her orientation??? Now that’s an interesting twist! But the part that intrigues me most is that your Tina is the brainiac physicist Dr. Kennard! Mmmmm, I think I’m in love – thanks Swimmie :o) . Maybe you could have her do some kind of colliding particle experiment with Bette ;o)
When I read Tina introduce Zach I thought “whoa whoa!” ✋😧👈 what are you doing Tina? I wondered why Bette didn’t stick around to find out what kind of partner he was. Thanks 🐠

Phew! Finally manage to catch up :-)… hey JKS :-) thanks for giving us another story! A very intriguing beginning may I say! And Tina being so not bright on introducing her “partner” on her crush *doh!* and Bette for being so easily scared off! Pretty interesting, as their roles now not so usual ;-) and the possibilities of having long distance relationship might be there also.. Which may lead to another branch of many possibilities also.. Anyway JKS.. Choose anyway, and we will still read whatever you share here :-) hehehe.. ;-)

Dr. Kennard doesn’t just need wingman, it appears she needs a cadre of associates to HELP HER GET A CLUE! Her intelligence is appealing and, as the brain is the most erogenous of all erogenous zones, she should be very capable once she puts her mind fully to the task of reviving their old acquaintance. Love this twist. Thanks!
