“We will, especially with summer vacation being right around the corner. Thanks doc. I think this really helped me to put things into perspective and to understand Tina’s concerns. I wasn’t trying to be insensitive or to disregard them. I just didn’t see where they had merit. I understand that better now.”

“Yeah. Thanks doc. Having this discussion has helped me tremendously as well. We too are looking forward to spending more social time with the kids. Bette tells me that you and Liz are thinking about expanding your family. Did having the three girls over this past weekend give you a good taste of what it could be like?”

“Yeah. We actually loved it. I think we’re ready. Liz is going to be the birth mother again and we’re using the same sperm donor so the kids will be full siblings. My medical practice is pretty well established so I plan to share the responsibility of being the stay at home mom for the first few months. We’re going to start the insemination next month so if all goes well we should have our baby by January or February of next year.

Tina/Bette: Good luck.

“Thank you. I guess we better wrap this up and get back to work. Do you want to keep Thursday at 1:30p as our regular time every other week? We can come back here or look for other meeting places that are convenient.”

“Yeah this day and time works for me. We can decide on a location when it gets closer to the date. Bette is that good for you?”

“Yeah. It’s perfect. Thursdays are usually pretty light for me.”

“OK then we’re all set.”

Bette takes care of the bill and they walk to the parking lot. Bette and Tina hug and kiss Emma goodbye then Bette walks Tina to her car.

“Tee? Are we OK about this now?”

“We are babe. I’ll talk to Leigh on Saturday and we’ll go from there.”

“OK. Are you going to the gym after work?”

“Yeah but I’ll be home by 7p. We really need to get some groceries in the house so we can stop ordering takeout but I guess that will have to wait until Saturday. What do you want to do for dinner?”

“I’ll see what Angie is in the mood for. We’ll pick up something on the way home. Maybe Chinese; we haven’t had that for a while. I think Angie will be in culture shock when she starts getting home cooked meals prepared in our kitchen. She’s not used to that with me.”

“Well I have an idea how we can fix that. I was thinking that maybe we could take some cooking classes. I know a catering company that offers a personal chef to come to the house to help you prepare the meal and then they leave you to enjoy it or we can also go to their kitchen for small group lessons. It’ll be something fun to do together. Angie is a little young for it now but they have kid’s classes for 8 years old and above.”

“That sounds like fun. I’d love to do that with you. Why don’t you get more information and we can enroll or schedule a date for them to come over.”

”It’s all online. We can visit their website whenever we’re ready.”

“OK. I guess we better get going. I love you baby.”

“I love you more.”

Bette and Tina embrace and share a kiss. Tina gets into her car and watches as Bette gets into hers which is parked close by. They wave at each other and drive off in separate directions.
