    S. O. (Esss Ohhh)

Bette closed her eyes again in frustration. “I can’t get into it, but, no, I can’t talk to friends or family right now.”

“You’re not on the run, are you? Haven’t killed anyone?” Tina was teasing, but felt a little uncertain now, even if she was convinced that nothing had popped up during their background checks their people had run on everyone they anticipated doing business with out here.

“No, silly,” Bette hastened to reassure the blonde, noting a hint of uncertainty in those hazel eyes. “I can’t tell you why, but, for your safety and mine, I just can’t say much more than I don’t have anyone to talk to.”

On impulse, Tina pulled down on Bette’s neck and brushed her lips against the brunette’s. “Well, you can talk to me, can’t you?” she whispered without fully disconnecting.

The contact made them both shiver. Before she could stop herself, Tina bit lightly on the pillow soft lips she’d just brushed with her own, then murmured, pulling slightly away, “Damn I want more of that. I want more than that.”

Bette brushed back, but pulled away quickly, also. “I do, too. You have no idea just how much … how much I want that, want you ….”

“Oh, but I do, sexy Jay,” Tina cut in, eyes gleaming with a deep hunger that she saw echoed thrillingly in those big, brown eyes.

After a beat, Bette reluctantly lifted her arms up, and unclasped Tina’s hands from around her neck.

She laid a quick kiss on the blonde’s upturned nose. “So, maybe that’s what we should do, for now. I talk to you – you talk to me. Just talk.”

Tina was surprised at how in-control Jay was about all of this.   And how astute she was. Tina thought to herself that she’d now need to sort through her emotions about her marriage, and Henry. She’d also have to start thinking about how to protect the kids from everything that would follow.

    “There’s a lot I have to do …”

Bette smiled. “Nice start. Talk to me — what do you have to do?”

Before Tina could say anything, they heard Sam call down, “Jay! Jay! Are you still here? I think we’ve got everything packed and ready in your SUV. Can you come look?”

Bette took one look at Tina’s naughty smile, that communicated so much, including acknowledging that they could have been caught making out earlier, and found she couldn’t resist giving the blonde at least one soul-shattering kiss. She quickly circled the blonde’s waist and pulled her close, felt a leg automatically lift and snake around her own leg, and that warm core rub wantonly against her thigh. They were each throbbing with lust, she knew, but just before she pressed a kiss on the lips that had been driving her crazy ever since they’d met, Sam’s voice sliced through the air. “Jay! Jay! Are you here?”

Sam seemed closer this time, and in one look Bette and Tina told each other that they probably only had a second to jump away from each other, to assume poses that would show nothing was going on between them. They jumped apart, and to hide her face, Bette bent to pick up the bags of coffee in the floor.

She could hear Tina make conversation with Sam, “ … so, Sam, would you please run this credit card, so that I can pay for our crew’s breakfast this morning? Jay wasn’t accepting it, and, I just can’t have that!”

Sam chuckled as she bent to pick up the other bags of coffee that Jay had missed. “Well, that’s something you’ll have to sort out with the owner, Tina. I just hope she’s not cutting our wages because she’s not getting paid!”

Bette and Tina exchange a quick smile of relief. Evidently, Sam hadn’t caught them.

“On the contrary, I’ll probably give you girls a bonus today if we can get everything ready upstairs. Tina said we’ll have more people coming over later today, and our café could be Instagrammed and Tweeted about by a few famous ones, so we better get our sh*t ready for our close-up!”

    1. So great to have a new chapter, thanks ever so much. Always wonderful to read about their love blossoming, and right now it is on a rampage. Yay!!!!! Tina will get all her stuff together, take care of her children and tell henry to go straight to hades and beyond. He is too much of a d–k to tell her he wants out, just not much of a man, his mother had already told her so. Tina should have listened to her and run like hell. I think he has already found someone to keep him warm at night, whether it is Stockholm or New York. Good riddance to him, he’s not worth piss. She needs Bette in her life for a love that is total and complete and when the children are there they will look like a truly complete family. Can hardly wait for all this to unfold. Thanks again for posting.

      • Speaking of Stockholm, for some reason, I thought you’d appreciate the following one liner from Ken Dodd (RIP):
“Just read a book about Stockholm Syndrome. It started off badly, but by the end I really liked it…”

        Side-splitting ????

Not picking on Swedish friends and readers out there, of course.

Thanks for commenting. Now let me get a pot for H to p*ss in, bec that’s all he deserves, right?

    2. Welcome back skydancer!

I missed you and your story!

They met and bonded immediatley, there was a instant connection.

Henry is a asshole and it wouldn’t surprise me if he is cheating around Tina’s back. Dump him and start a family with Bette.

It is clear that Lena is history as possible lover, but i do hope she will continue to be a friend for Bette.

Fantastic update, please don’t let us wait too long for the next chapter!

      • I hadn’t and i doubt about possibility of this.

That’s why i always be sceptical about IC version friendship between Bette and Alice in TLW and that Alice truly cared about B&T relationship.

    3. Hi Z, yes, it has been a long time. I’ve had the next few chapters in draft, but haven’t had time to finish them. Meanwhile, a few things happened IRL, so life sucked for a while, and I wasn’t writing anything. Then a new story wormed its way into my head, in a way I couldn’t ignore so I’ve been writing that one out. May post that sooner than the next chapter for this one, and I hope you’ll like it.

Take good care, in the meantime!

    4. Oh no, it’s been 3 1/2 years since the last entry. Please don’t tell me that COVID-19 impacted your writing.

I love this new/different story line!! When TJ arrives the intersection with Bette (Jay) will just add more and more to the story.

And, don’t forget the LA airport lounge conversation that Bette heard period to her departure. Another line of this great story!

      Please write/publish more, PLEASE!
