“Momma do you have your iPad?”

“Yes I do. Why?”

“You need to check your email.”

Bette opened her email and saw the pictures that Tina had sent of Angie drawing in the sand and posing next to her masterpieces. Tina even added captions for Bette. Bette was watching the slide show as Angie continued to tell her about the pictures and what they meant.

“I drew the heart because we love you and you make our hearts happy when we see you. I drew a sad face because we miss your smile. I wanted to draw hugs and kisses but that was too hard so Mommy helped me to spell it. Mommy drew a thing for music because I miss you singing to me. Did you see that picture Momma? I took it with the camera. Mommy says I did a really good job.”

Bette was touched. Tears ran down her cheeks and she sniffled as she viewed the lopsided picture of Tina drawing the musical note in the sand. Angie’s little finger can be seen at the corner of the frame.

“Momma are you crying?”

“Yes just a little. This is so sweet Angie. I miss you so much but your pictures made me feel better too. I’ll be home very soon. OK baby? Have a good night and I will talk to you tomorrow. I love you my angel.”

“I love you too Momma. Good night.”

Angie hands the phone back to Tina. Before she takes off Tina tells Angie to start putting her things together because they would be leaving to go home soon .Tina gets back on the phone with Bette. She also got teary eyed listening to the conversation between Bette and Angelica.

“Hey Bette you OK?”

“Yeah. Tina that was so special. What she said about missing me and the pictures … it was sweet of you to do that for me. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. It helped to keep her occupied. By the way what did you tell her when she asked about getting a dog?”

“I said we would need to discuss it when I got back. She is six; maybe she is ready for a pet. What do you think?”
