“I won’t leave you again.”
By the sleeping woman, there sat a blonde in rumbled clothes. Her hair was messy, eyes shadowed with tiredness, but her condition was not comparable to that of the brunette woman. She gently caressed the emaciated face for the countless time in the last few hours, and applied some moisture using a Q-tip on the slightly chapped thin lips.
Tina had kept her promise, to not leave Bette’s side even if the sky were to crumble on top of her.
As the brunette drifted deeper in her slumber again, Tina only dared to let out a labored breath, feeling the last 72 hours taking a toll on her entire being.
It had been 72 hours, each hour, each minute, each second a torturous slashing that threatened to tear open her strong facade and bare her bleeding heart. But at least, she got her back, she could hold her, and watch her sleep in the safety of their little hospital cubicle. And the memory of all the excruciation rapidly faded into background noise.
Tina slumped in her chair and rubbed at her temples. Her mind still working at full speed to register and make sense of what had happened in the last three days, how had it all changed their destiny.

“Quiet, or I’ll cut your tongue out.” Bette made a similar threat and led the blonde hostage to the phone call area. She was holding a pair of medical forceps and limping a little under the ripping pain in her side. Helena was already waiting for them by a phone.
“You ok?” The Brit eyed her up and down with concern. Bette looked really pale, as if she would collapse at any moment.
Nodding stubbornly, the brunette shoved Cindi forward, “make the call, now.”
Helena had ordered one of the more technology-savvied inmate to sabotage the phone line, leaving it connected after restricted hours.
Cindi dialed with her left hand awkwardly, and the call went through.
“How did it go?” A rumbling man’s voice broke through the phone, and the blonde girl shuddered a little. Feeling Bette’s forceps pressing into her back, she swallowed and pretended to be calm, “Vincent is dead.”

I don’t actually know how the agencies work in the US, I just looked them up in wikipedia and bullshitted a lot. Anything to bring the two back together, ya know?
Shout out to Bibi, pikiangelica, dunn, wkm, tanishaa, lip, and all the other silent viewers. You’re the reason I keep writing. I’m thankful that you stuck with this story during the darkest time and bumpy roads lol. From now on, it’s gonna be a pretty smooth ride.

Well I have something to say, I’m mad at you Robyn because this story is not supposed to end yet… I want more.. I love this story, it’s great and different and great and yeah really great… So I’m not ready for the last chapter.. I want sappy but I also want more… And if we have to have a last chapter please make it with lots and lots of loving-NC-17 type loving and very very long with lots of cute sappy moments and great conversations.. And information on what happens to other key players…

Well HELENA is a good guy after all. TINA was right to call him on this and defend BETTE.YEAH you got the agencies right all about self and not about sacrifices of the one doing the work.now let’s really get these two off by themselves so the healing can begin and thanks for posting.

This was a great chapter, loved the way Tina is there supporting her woman.
Wonderful chapter. This has been areal nail biter for me, I can’t wait to see what happens next for these two. Maybe you could even do a little something special for Helena for helping Bette out. The feds are trying to take all of Bette’ money but I’m sure she probable has some stashed so she and Tina can start their new lives without having to worry about being poor. PPS :)
