Paris, France
They arrived in Paris the next morning. Tina had reserved a car service to take them to the hotel. They were staying in a boutique hotel near the Champs-Elysées. Bette and Tina did the ‘must sees; Eiffel Tower, Musée d’Orsay, St Germain, Notre-Dame, Jardin des Plantes, Hôtel de Ville, Louvre, and Champs-Elysées using a two day pass on the Batobus which was something like a cross between Seine cruises and the Hop-on/Hop-off tour buses.
“Baby this has been the most amazing trip. I love you so much for arranging such a romantic time for us.” Bette was in heaven and the most relaxed she’d felt in ages.
“Babe you deserve this and more. You’ve made me so very happy. I love you more than words can say. We have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to in the New Year. It’s just been a roller coaster ride with all the changes we’ve experienced. I just wanted us to have a nice relaxing vacation just the two of us.”
“It’s perfect. You are right. We have been on a roller coaster ride and it’s just going to start up again once we get back. I have the gallery’s grand opening in January. Leigh’s show to prepare for in the spring. Moving our home to the beach in the summer. Angie starting a new school in the fall.” Bette was exhausted just thinking about it.
“There’s one more thing to add to the list.”
“What’s that?” Bette asked as she ticked everything off in her head.
“I’ve decided to leave my job at the center once Angie starts school.”
“You have?” This was a surprise to Bette. She knew that Tina had other career aspirations but didn’t know that she was ready to leave her current job.
“Yes. There’s no point putting it off any longer. I’ve decided to get started on my new career offering professional services and grant writing. I also want to start making plans for our baby. We’ve got Marcus’ sperm donation stored at the cryobank. We had great test results so hopefully I won’t have a hard time getting pregnant this time. I really would like to try to get pregnant before the end of next year. What do you think?”

I must thank you for reposting this amazing story! Although i read it earlier, to me it felt as the first time.
It has so many wonderful and emotional parts, like Lady sovjet already said, it brought tears in my eyes.

You had every emotion possible that a person or family could experience and all surrounded by love. FANTASTIC. Can hardly wait for the sequel to see Bette and family and see Peggy express her love for Bette and her family and to see just how Peggy helps Bette rise to greater heights and importance in the worlds of Art and Business.
