Tina worked all afternoon until the need for another gym session took over. She spent 60 minutes running at the gym which was at least air conditioned unlike if she had run outside. When she got home it was 7pm and she was determined to show Bette just how much she loved her. As soon as Tina got home and closed and locked the front door she felt the tension starting to ease. This was their home – the home that they had selected and furnished according to their style – the home they shared – Bette and Tina’s place. The dark haired part of the double act was missing – but her car was in the drive so Tina went Bette hunting. Tina went into their bedroom – Bette was lying on the bed – she was dozing wrapped in a huge white towel. The fact that she was tired was also Tina’s fault – on Sunday night she had kept her awake and the night before they had lain together talking until after 2am. So Bette was as tired as Tina felt – the difference was that Bette was the one taking the nap.

Tina sat on the chair in the corner of the room and looked at Bette. Tina did wonder how it had happened that Big Bad Bette as the brunette had nicknamed herself, had become the woman that was in front of her eyes. This Bette – the Bette that Tina knew and cherished – was so loving and kind – it was a hard thing to see her as the heartbreaker of her reputation. Maybe all that mattered was that Bette was the way she was and Tina should honour that woman. Tina got up and undressed, she put her dirty clothes in the basket in the bathroom before walking back into the bedroom. Bette was slowly waking up – she was sitting up rubbing her eyes. Seeing a naked Tina brought her to with a start
