    SOMETHING SO RIGHT

     

    Chapter 21

     

    Bette was running along the beach lost in her own thoughts. It was 10pm and for once on this tropical paradise she was alone. Tina was suffering from a migraine and was asleep back in their suite. They had been sight seeing all day and it was only when they had reached the hotel had Tina begun to feel unwell. So instead of going out for dinner Bette had stayed in with Tina. After an hour lying against Bette’s body Tina had fallen asleep and hadn’t moved for two hours. Which was why Bette was running alone along the beautiful beach looking at the moon and thinking about her life and how it had changed in such a short period of time.

     

    What did Tina have that all the other women didn’t ? why had she not walked out on Tina as soon as Tina had said that she had never slept with a woman ? Bette had a lot of questions and not many answers.

     

    She did know that it had been a gamble – Bette wasn’t much of a gambler – she preferred to play a cautious hand. But she had taken a risk when she had sold her nice LA house and put all her money into her business. That had paid off and opening her heart a fraction for Tina had been another gamble. And she had hit the jackpot – she now had a girlfriend. No – that sounded wrong -Bette thought again as she covered the distance back to their hotel. She now had a PARTNER – yes – yes that was right. Bette now had a partner to share her life with – a woman who was her equal. Deep down Bette knew that in some areas – Tina was more than her equal – like in how fit Tina was.

     

    Bette was determined to start swimming every day when they got back to LA. Swim and maybe go to the gym before work – yes – that was a better use of the hours of 7-9 rather than coming in early to work and having coffee for breakfast. Right -she was going to start swimming – getting herself into shape for her wonderful partner. Bette grinned – this was a holiday to remember.

    1. Hello AllyE, Thank you for all your wonderful posts today. This one was magnificent. Completely blown away by your talent and way with words. Bette and Tina could have stepped into ice water and made it a hot tub as their intimacy heated up the moment. Loved your references to Season 1, Episode 2 shower scene. Cute, too fucking cute. There was almost a tragedy as Tina ran away but what sweetness followed as Bette explained the situation and stated her thoughts on their connection. Give Tina her grandmother’s ring was a commitment to their future together. Can’t wait ot see what happens when they return to the real world and the gang sees the meaning of true love.     17. Woah, the end just knocked me off my feet. I can’t wait to see Tina’s reaction. I love that Bette is letting herself go emotionally in ways she never has before..and that she is already planning things like having James take over more work, working out, and spending time with Tina. Its really beautiful.
