Something so right – chapter 76
“I brought you some snacks “
“Bette! “
Bette walked across an sat down on the sofa bed. She placed the tin foil package on Tina’s lap and opened it – just as Tina had hoped it was some of her favourite samosas and onion bhaji’s.
“Bette – I love you so much “ Tina was delighted – Bette laughed. It was good that she could do something as small as bring home some snacks from her event and Tina was so thrilled. In the past Bette had always thought that to really spoil a woman you had to buy her flowers, expensive necklaces and chocolates. But she was learning that the smallest gift could frequently thrill Tina the most.
“Oh Bette – I just love these “
“Do you want something to drink with them ?”
“I have had a couple of beers “
“Well I will get the rest of the six pack “
“Do you want some of these ?”
“No thanks – I overdid the sweet stuff “
“Great – did you not bring me any of that ? “
“I was planning to bring you something of everything but there was a stampede for the food and the wine so I just managed to get you some of these “
“I love these “
Tina picked one of the triangular samoas up and took a bite
“These are delicious “
“I’ll get you the beer “
“Thank you “
Bette got up and went into the kitchen, she retrieved the beers from the fridge and wandered back into the living room. She looked at the blonde – slowly she was getting her colour back, she still got tired quickly but things were improving and Bette was so relieved that her lover was going to be okay. As soon as the show was over Bette was planning to take Tina somewhere so they could relax together – the bigger the bed the better. Tina was finishing her samoa and looking at what else Bette had brought her. Bette handed Tina a beer and sat down beside her
“What have you been watching ?”
“Trash – if the show made sense I changed channels – I have been enjoying myself “

Good for Tina standing up to Alice, but it upsets me that she had to. I admire a loyal friend, but not only is Alice injecting herself into a situation where she does not belong, she was very callous to treat someone who is still recovering from a serious health issue that way. Please don’t make Alice so unlikable.
Hello AllyE. I have finally managed to catch up with your marvelous melodrama. I just adore how Tina talked things through to a point with her mom. They have to communicate first and then start rebuilding their relationship. It was so sweet that Bette and Tina are going to exchange rings. It is really a commitment ceremony as they are pledging to stay together and be there for each other through eternity. A half way house to marriage as it is not legally recognized. Life is so much more enjoyable when these gals are together. Right on the Tee for defending her position and telling Alice to Step-Off. Perfection. MAny thanks for this goregous tale. I just love it all. Your Loyal Fan.
Tina needs to take it easy, with her health… You know, Alice really isn’t that vicious. Yeah, she could make talking an Olympic sport, she’s someone that can’t keep a secret, and butts in a lot, but really, she’s kind and very loyal, and is quite capable of telling people what they need to be told, at times. Tina’s power tripping over the hold she has on Bette is way over the top. What’s she threatening Alice for? Telling Alice to butt out, yes, fair enough. But threatening to get Bette to withdraw her friendship… no. Anyway, Tina’s come up with a really good compromise, re: the rings… Hopefully with that and the house, Bette feels more secure. Thanks for the post.
i think overstepped her the line with tina. it was okay to express her concern but then leave tina to it!! nice compromise at least both are happy and tina needs to take it easy! :)PPS
Now isn’t that the perfect solution? I love how Tina’s prety mind thinks. :)
Well at least Bette is trying to understand…Tina’s idea was perfect! What do we do about Alice??!!
Wow – great chapter! They communicated and came to a compromise – wow imagine that – I wish the show would of been a little more like this. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these two – can they really keep this open and honest relationship up? I hope so. Can’t wait to read more – PPS
wonderful update, ally! i appreciate Alice’s loyalty but she has to learn when to back off. love feisty Tina but maybe the “power I have over her” comment was a little too much. but then again, we have to remember how poorly Tina is right now (and how stubborn Alice can be! lol) The rings and the house are a perfect compromise at this point.
Finally Tina tells Alice off, Wow Tina is just the best for Bette sweet chptr
So glad that Tina told Alice to “f” off, because she is far too involved in their lives for comfort. Also happy they reached a compromise on the “M” word. And of all people to make sense to Tina about marriage, her mother. I don’t think much of her mother but she does rate an A for this effort. Thanks for posting AllyE. Post when you can.
Alice is out of line but IMO, Bette is lucky to have her as a friend.
Compromise, that’s a good thing. Alice needs to chill out, but I also understand that Bette is her best friend. She wants to make sure that Bette is not hurting. PPS
Lovely update as always. Thank you.
I’m shocked that Bette agreed to returning Tina’s ring. Great that they came to a compromise, but it just seems like Tina is geeting her way. I think Bette is still reeling from Tina being in the hospital, but what happens when Tina is better and Bette starts wanting to marry her again? PPS!
“if the show made sense I changed channels”–so did Tina end up watching the l word all night then? Hehe
yes! tina rulz!!!
Yay!! Finally they came to some sort of a compromise! and I love how Tina put Alice in her place! PPS:)
That was great they talk and work thing out, love it. Please post more, thanks!
It’s GREAT to see this personal growth in Tina. I love how she finally put Alice in her place, talked to her mother, and soften her stance on her rift with Bette. PPS:o).
