“None of us can stay longer than this weekend – before we all go back I hope that you can encourage Niall to get in touch with Tina and Finn. No one is taking sides here Mrs Kennard – but you must understand how much we all want to make sure that both Tina’s parents are okay “
Jacky nodded at Bette – they both looked at Tina.
“You okay babe ?”
Tina got up “I’m just going to wash my face “
The room went silent when Tina walked out. Bette finished her cake
“Any chance of some of that fruit cake ? “
Jacky laughed “I won’t tell Tina “
“Thanks “
When Jacky returned Bette was looking at old photographs on the dresser. She came back and sat down
“Thank you for the cake “
“Niall also didn’t like her attitude towards you “
Bette held up her hands “No – she didn’t like me – she thought I wasn’t good for Tina . Things are better now“
“Niall thinks differently – so does Finn and Willow “
“I love your grand-daughter – we are very well matched and very close. All I have ever done is try and do the right thing for her”
“You don’t have to convince me Bette – I am devoted to Tina – always have been. Its an open secret that she is our favourite grandchild. We love Willow and Finn but Tina holds a special place because she is so full of sunshine. Yes her grandfather muttered when he found out but his bark is worse than his bite. Niall says that you are devoted to each other”
Bette nodded “Fair assessment – Jacky – is there another woman involved here ?”
“It’s a reasonable assumption to make “
Which Bette took to mean yes but she was bound by loyalty not to say it out loud.
“I want to take Tina back to LA and for us to get on with our lives and for Tina not to be worrying herself sick about her parents. Which Tina will if the farm isn’t running smoothly “ Bette looked firmly at Jacky.
“For Tina and Finn’s sake we will see what we can do “

FINALLY I’VE READ THIS!..YOU KNOW HOW LONG HAVE I BEGGING YOU TO POST ANOTHER CHAPTER IN THE OTHER SITE?… [I’m still begging in there you know] God! hope they find Tina’s dad so they can move on, ESPECIALLY TINA who don’t want to do anything about her mom..If not for her dad’s missing, I think she will not be talking to her mom sooner then expected, she’s so vile about her…
